Divide -- And Conquer is the third episode of the first season of Inhumans.
Synopsis[]
After fleeing their home, the Inhumans desperately search for each other in the wake of Maximus’ coup. Now they must learn who they can trust on Earth.
Plot[]
Evan Declan sees a video of Black Bolt's arrest. Declan calls an inmate named Sammy to get him to help. He has Sammy befriend Black Bolt in jail. Meanwhile, Black Bolt remembers when he argued with his parents about being King, which he didn't want. Louise Fisher tries to talk to an officer about Black Bolt, but doesn't get answers.
Medusa walks about Honolulu and sees an ATM. However, she doesn't know how it works. Gorgon notices how the surfers are good fighters, but still believes they are no match for the Attilan Royal Guard. The surfer tells him that he will fight for Gorgon's king because he couldn't fight for his own. Maximus visits Crystal once again to ask for her help. She finally agrees, so he sends Mordis down to help Auran despite her pleads not to. Mordis, a deadly Inhuman, immediately asks for Black Bolt because he caused Mordis' imprisonment.
Karnak continues to travel the island and sees a camp. He approaches Reno, a drug dealer, who immediately pulls a knife on him. Medusa finds a house and grabs the owners food, money, and clothes. She sees a newspaper with the headline stating how Black Bolt got arrested. Reno, Jen, and Ted discuss if they should keep Karnak tied up. Karnak checks his probability to find the best way to get out. He finds that kicking the table will collapse the building on top of them, but when he does this, it doesn't work.
Sammy meets Black Bolt and asks how he got his abilities. He asked if he was experimented on, Sammy then offers to help him find his family. Meanwhile, the Royal Guard attack Gorgon. Karnak gets his wounds cleaned up by Jen, who is the only one that is nice to him so far. Officer Rivera angrily marches into Black Bolt's cell when he sees that Sammy is being nice to Black Bolt. He forcefully pushes Sammy out. Tibor meets with Maximus about news revolving around the Genetic Council. Crystal comes in and asks for Lockjaw, but Maximus tells her he is sedated. Crystal gives a pre-written speech to the Genetic Council, however, she tricks him and tells the Council that he isn't the King. She then escapes. Maximus remembers when he went through Terrigenesis and became a human instead of getting powers. He then gives his own speech to the Council while Crystal gets Lockjaw to teleport her.
The three drug dealers agree to let Karnak free as long as he doesn't try to escape. Black Bolt gains the trust of many inmates, which gets Rivera angry. This starts a riot among the inmates and the cops. During the riot, Black Bolt escapes with Sammy, who reveals himself to be an inhuman with melting hands. This makes Black Bolt remember when he went through terrigenesis and became the most dangerous Inhuman ever if he uses his voice. When the duo escapes, they find Declan's helicopter and escape with him. Medusa arrives at this moment and is followed by Fisher. Medusa tries to get Black Bolt's attention, but he doesn't hear her. Medusa holds Fisher at gun point and tells her to follow the helicopter. Meanwhile, Crystal arrives on Earth to find a man named Dave who accidentally runs over Lockjaw with his quad.
