A rename to "Diaz (Cybertek)" has been proposed for this article in order to make it comply with the Naming Policy. Please see the relevant discussion for the name on the talk page.
"We've met with a number of other former S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists recently and I must say, thus far, we're... underwhelmed. HYDRA, on the other hand, less constrained in their thinking. And younger." "Usually younger."
Diaz gained employment as a scientist for Cybertek, eventually working closely to Ott, the senior vice-president of Research and Development.
After the HYDRA Uprising, he conducted job interviews with out-of-work S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists. Diaz, along with Ott, met with Phil Coulson and Melinda May, who were trying to obtain files from Cybertek. They turned them down for employment because the technology they presented, an I.C.E.R. bullet, had already been given to them by HYDRA.
