"It's an ancient technique they taught in K'un-Lun. It's called the Devil's Claw. It strikes the pressure points, carotid and subclavian arteries."
Danny Rand to Colleen Wing[src]

The Devil's Claw is a an ancient and difficult technique taught to members of the Order of the Crane Mother. It involves striking the pressure points, carotid and subclavian arteries, incapacitating the victim and leaving succeptible to suffer a stroke. The only sign of having suffered from the Devil's Claw is heavy bruising in the neck, throat and shoulders.

History

Danny Rand and Davos were both taught to use the Devil's Claw by the Order of the Crane Mother in K'un-Lun.[1]

Davos later used the technique against Hai-Qing Yang in order to prevent the latter from backing out of negotiations between the Yangsi Gonshi and the Golden Tigers, so that Davos could ensure his own access to a shipment which contained the corpse of a previous Iron Fist.[2] Rand saw a dying Yang while trying to convince his wife to continue the negotiations, and recognized Yang's bruises. This caused Rand to realize that Davos gave Yang his apparent stroke.[1]
