"I thought the Iron Fist was my birthright."
"You wanted to be chosen?"
"It's all I ever wanted. To be the protector. To guard the pass. And you took it from me. I accepted that. You were still my brother. But then you ran, like a thief in the night."
―Davos and Danny Rand[src]

Davos is a member of the Order of the Crane Mother, the son of Lei Kung and Priya, and a contender for the Iron Fist mantle. Davos had became friends with Danny Rand, but grew jealous of Rand once he received the honor of becoming the Iron Fist. Davos' jealousy turned to anger as Rand had left his post at K'un-Lun to return to New York City, as Davos turned against his best friend as he saw how Rand changed while he was in New York, and his unwillingness to kill the Hand during their conflicts with Bakuto. Seeking the help of Joy Meachum, Davos instead chose to take revenge, by killing Rand for his decision to leave K'un-Lun and for seemingly betraying him.

Gaining the corpse of a previous Iron Fist, Davos and Meachum hired Mary Walker to track down and kidnap Rand, using the Crane Sisters to perform a ceremony to transfer the Iron Fist over to Davos. Seeking to use the powers, as he believed it was intended, Davos recruited the aid of criminal Chen Wu and Ryhno's Gang to murder members of the Yangsi Gonshi and Golden Tigers and anyone who associated with these organizations. However, as Davos was tracked down by Rand, who attempted to transfer the Iron Fist over to Colleen Wing. Despite attempting to keep his new powers, Davos was overpowered and Wing took the Iron Fist from him, as Davos was arrested for his crimes.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Growing up in K'un-Lun[]

"We only ate vegetables we grew in the monastery. But sometimes I'd sneak out with my friend Davos. We'd, uh, go eat some donkey."
Danny Rand to Claire Temple[src]

Davos was the only son of Lei Kung, a revered member of the Order of the Crane Mother, and Priya. Growing up, Davos had always wanted to become next the Iron Fist and trained hard to achieve that goal.[5] Davos' mother, Priya, would also push Davos to be the greatest warrior in K'un-Lun, allowing nothing less than perfection from him and scolding Davos if whenever dared to slack in this mission to become the Iron Fist.[1] While growing up in K'un-Lun, Davos witnessed those who proved themselves to be dishonorable, being thrown to the bottom of the ravine, where Davos would walk among their corpses and then personally break all their bones for extra measure.[6]

Meeting Danny Rand[]

YoungDavosRand-HappyTimes

"The Iron Fist must strike their enemies as a falcon does, without mercy or hesitation."
"The Iron Fist protects K'un-Lun."
"He doesn't only guard the gates. He kills all our enemies."
―Davos and Danny Rand[src]

One day, the monks Chodak and Tashi returned to K'un-Lun with an outsider named Danny Rand, since Rand was the only survivor from a plane crash on the outskirts of their hidden city. Rand then became apprenticed to Lei Kung, while Davos became close friends with the outsider and came to regard him as a brother, as the pair would often sneak away to eat a donkey together rather than vegetables.[7] Being an outsider to K'un-Lun, Rand was able to show Davos some of his ways from New York City to amuse themselves, which had included making paper-airplanes, since these had utterly amazed Davos.[8]

YoungDavosRand-PlayingGames

Davos playing games with Danny Rand

While inside their room, Davos and Rand had amused themselves by playing their game of noughts and crosses which Rand had learned while growing up in the United States of America, Davos once again lost and complained that it was a stupid game, as Rand bet Davos that if he won again then Davos would have to do all of his knuckle pushups for him, which Davos had simply refused to bet on, claiming that Rand was so skinny that he needed to do more pushups rather than him. Rand, however, noted how Kung taught them that having a sharp mind could be better than even the sharpest of swords.

YoungDavosDiscussingIronFist

Davos discusses becoming the Iron Fist

The friends then discussed the Iron Fist and the teachings of Kung and Yü-Ti, as Davos had noted that the Iron Fist must strike without mercy or hesitation, claiming that the Iron Fist not only guarded the pass to K'un-Lun but also killed them against all of their enemies. When Rand questioned if he would actually be able to kill, Davos had insisted that once he was the Iron Fist, he would then hunt down and destroy their enemies, which included the Hand. When Rand then questioned if Davos would be willing to kill him if he joined the Hand, Davos had claimed he would not as they were still brothers.

DavosWhippedByMother

They were then interrupted by Priya, who insisted that if Rand joined the Hand then Davos must kill him without a second thought, telling Rand that he would never face Shou-Lao due to his compassion. Priya then whipped Davos' hands for speaking out of turn, making him recite what made him worthy of becoming the Iron Fist.[1] The two youth shared many experiences together such as stealing wine from Master Kuo and replacing it with water[9] as well as stealing apples from Master Q'uon[10] or stealing Kuo's cart to go and peek on the village girls, only to find Davos' father bathing in the nude.[11]

"Yield. Yield! Danny, it's over. You can't run forever."

―Davos and Danny Rand[src]

Years had passed and eventually, another trainee was chosen to go through Shou-Lao's trials and become Iron Fist, which Davos had trained for his entire life with the Order of the Crane Mother. Davos furiously fought against all the other challengers for the title in ritual combat, becoming victorious over them all one by one until only he and Danny Rand remained and were forced into combat with each other for the right to become the Iron Fist. The ceremony for their final fight was begun with Yü-Ti announcing that only one would be able to go and face Shou-Lao and have their chance at becoming the Iron Fist.

DavosDuelStandOff

Davos preparing to challenge Danny Rand

Davos and Rand had worn their traditional karate gis and were given masks as they meditated before the fight. The two friends were then tied to one another by a long piece of cloth which would make their fight more of a challenge as each could use it to their advantage as either protection or their weapon. Lei Kung explained that neither of the fighters would be allowed to leave the room until one was finally victorious, noting that their fight would only end by yield or death. Davos and Rand then circled one another, eyeing up their opponent until Kung had then finally told them to begin their fight.

Davos and Danny Rand begin their duel

Without hesitation, Davos and Rand furiously charged at one another, fueled by their determination they each used all the skills they had learned in K'un-Lun in their duel, seeking to gain victory as soon as possible, but with them being equally matched, gaining an advantage proved to be challenging. Davos and Rand then each launched into the air at each other and landed a flying punch. Their duel continued for several hours, going into the night as neither fighter was able to fully gain an advantage and end their duel, as they took momentary pauses to calm themselves as the pain continued to increase.

MaskedDavosRandDuel

Davos furiously battles against Danny Rand

Davos chose to be the more aggressive fighter, pulling at the cloth to bring Rand closer to him but struggled to land a finishing blow as Rand used his speed and fast reflexes to avoid all of Davos' strikes, attempting to tire Davos out. Using the long cloth to his advantage, Davos was able to pull Rand close to him as he attempted to land a deadly series of blows to Rand's neck which would cause a stroke, only to fail to pull off the move before Rand was able to knock him back, with Kung looking over at Priya upon seeing this, fearful that Davos would actually kill Rand finally to gain his victory.

MaskedDavos-RippingCloth

Davos begins to lose control of his anger

Rand then used a similar technic as he used the long cloth to wrap up Davos' arms, making him unable to defend himself as Rand had landed a series of hard blows against Davos' face and body. Davos was just able to free himself by kicking Rand away from him while becoming enraged that Rand was coming so close to victory as he furiously tore the long cloth apart and roared at Rand to continue their fight without it. Their fight continued as Rand managed to knock the enraged Davos off his feet and then landed a heavy strike onto his chest, only for Davos to get up and still continue fighting.

MaskedDavosBeatenDown

Davos is soon beaten down by Danny Rand

With his anger getting the best of him, Davos received several heavy blows to the face from Rand that knocked him down onto his knees, forcing him to remove his mask while blood dripped from his open wounds. Seeing his friend in such a state of agony, caused Rand to momentarily pause before he would have landed the finishing strike, which Davos had then used to his own advantage by furiously hitting Rand in the face. Knocking him to the ground, Davos appeared to be coming close to victory as he had brutally slammed his foot down on Rand's fingers, crushing them as Rand screamed out in agony.

As Rand lay in agony on the floor and struggling to move, Davos had then walked over to his brother and demanded that he yield the fight and allow Davos to claim a victory. When Rand said nothing, Davos began repeatedly hitting him in the head and demanding that he yield while Kung and the other monks watched on. As Rand said nothing, Davos gripped his hands around his throat and prepared himself to break his brother's neck. However, Rand was able to gather enough strength to throw Davos off him, wrapping up his broken fingers with the torn cloth and preparing himself to continue their duel.

BloodyDavosHittingBloodyRand

Davos beating Rand down repeatedly

With the duel continuing into the early hours of the morning, Davos had now gained the clear advantage as he repeatedly hit Rand in the face, with both of them now covered in their own and each other's blood. As Rand could barely stand, Davos insisted that the fight was over and continued to demand that Rand finally yield the fight so that he did not have to kill his brother. Rand, however, refused to back down, blocking as many of Davos' strikes as he could but seemingly unable to land any counter strikes. As Davos insisted that he could not run forever, Rand claimed he was not running but leading.

DavosBlindedBySun

Davos hesitates as he is blinded by the sun

This comment angered Davos, as he charged forward and attacked Rand, only for Rand to block the blows and move aside, allowing the bright sunlight of the early morning coming from the window to then momentarily blind Davos, at a crucial moment during their duel. This distraction for just a single moment, allowed Rand to use the energy he had been reserving and landed several hits against Davos, striking him across the cheek, stomach and under the chin before launching his flying punch directly to Davos' head, which knocked him down to the ground and left him completely unable to defend himself.

DavosDefeated-DuelOfKunLun

Since the advantage in the fight had finally come his way, Rand took advantage and grabbed ahold of the injured Davos, demanding him once again that to yield, and since he said nothing, Rand raised his bleeding fist, prepared to continue striking his brother until he finally yielded the duel to him. Before Rand could deliver one more punch, Lei Kung spoke out and told him that Rand would face Shou-Lao to become the Iron Fist. Davos was then left mortified and heartbroken that he had failed in his mission to become the Iron Fist, something he trained for his entire life, while Rand walked away victorious.[2]

Mother's Scorn[]

"Excuses for your failure. Better I was barren than to bring a disgrace like you into this world. Second best. The fool who lost his birthright to an outsider. I thought I had raised a champion. I was mistaken. I now must wear that shame."
"Mother, I'm sorry. I will make you proud."
Priya and Davos[src]

In the wake of the Duel of K'un-Lun, the gravely wounded Davos had recovered in his room, where he considered the great shame he had bought upon his family by losing. He was eventually joined by Priya who had bought him his medicine and then informed Davos that Lei Kung was busy preparing Danny Rand for the Trial of Shou-Lao. Davos painfully sat up in his bed as Priya mocked him for the excuses which he would use, like Rand using the trick of the sun.

BloodyDavosMockedByMother

Davos' failure being mocked by Priya

Commenting that Davos might argue that Kung had betrayed Davos when he called the fight as he had never yielded, Priya insisted that these would merely be excuses for Davos' failure. With Davos unable to even look his mother in the eye, she told him that she would have rather been unable to bear children than have a disgrace like Davos as her son. Priya furiously called Davos second best and a fool who lost the right of the Iron Fist to a mere outsider rather than one born and raised in K'un-Lun and had therefore brought shame not only to K'un-Lun, but to his family who expected more of him.

Davos-IWillMakeYouProud

While Priya continued expressing her disgust that she was wrong in her belief that she had raised a champion, she smashed Davos' bowl of medicine before storming out, leaving Davos alone and filled with both shame and regret. Once he was alone, the mortified Davos said he was sorry to his mother and then vowed that he would make her proud, someday and somehow. Unsure of his own purpose in life now that he had just lost the right to face Shou-Lao and become the Iron Fist, Davos could now only sit alone and repeat to himself that one day, he would finally make his family proud of him again.[1]

Danny Rand's Victory[]

"The trial of Shou-Lao. You survived. You're the Iron Fist. The people need to meet their Immortal Weapon. I'll be your second, standing beside you on the pass. Protectors of K'un-Lun."
―Davos to Danny Rand[src]

Davos had eventually recovered from all of the serious injuries which he gained in the Duel of K'un-Lun, and chose to accept the fact that he had been beaten by Danny Rand during their duel, choosing to withhold his disappointment and shame, instead supporting his own brother in defending K'un-Lun from the Hand because he had still regarded Rand as his brother. As Rand went to undergo the Trial of Shou-Lao, Davos personally went to check on him to see if he had survived the ordeal.

Davos helps Danny Rand back onto his feet

When he reached the Cave of the Dragon, Davos soon found Rand unconscious outside the cave. Concerned for his friend, he went to check on him, fearing that Shou-Lao may have defeated Rand and claimed his life. However, as Davos checked on him, Rand suddenly awoke and, in his confusion and panic, his fist started burning brightly with Chi, proving that Rand had succeeded in his trial against the dragon and had become the Iron Fist and the protector of K'un-Lun. Amazed that an outsider had succeeded where so many had failed, Davos helped Rand onto his feet as they headed back to the village, promising that he will stand by his side as his second.[5]

Davos brings Danny Rand back to K'un-Lun

Davos had carried Rand all the way back to K'un-Lun, as Rand could barely stand following his furious duel against Shou-Lao which had almost killed him. When the brothers had then returned to K'un-Lun, Davos sat Rand down and watched as Rand lit up the Iron Fist, with both the brothers amazed that he had succeeded and become K'un-Lun's Immortal Weapon.[8] For a time, both Davos and Rand guarded the passage together as Davos had acted as the Iron Fist's second-in-command, with Davos taking their role of guardians seriously, while Rand himself had still seemed distracted by outside thoughts.

As they stood overlooking the passage to K'un-Lun, Davos and Rand discussed how this would be how they would spend the rest of their lives, protecting K'un-Lun. Suddenly one day, Rand left without any sort of word or trace, leaving K'un-Lun unprotected from any possible attack from the Hand. Davos had hoped Rand will eventually come back and continue his new role as their protector, but as time went by, that hope soon turned into disappointment and resentment for his friend's sudden abandonment, with Lei Kung also expressing his disappointment over Rand's disappearance.[5]

Leaving K'un-Lun[]

"I know that you pushed me so that I might have the keenest edge in battle. There are things unsaid between us. There are things other mothers could say to their sons, things other sons could just say… to their mothers. I may not return, Mother. My bones may rot in cursed soil, far from home."
―Davos to Priya[src]

Ever since Danny Rand departed from K'un-Lun, Davos and all the other members of the Order of the Crane Mother debated what was to be done. Eventually, Davos made the decision to track Rand down himself, believing that he would have likely gone back to the United States of America to where he was born, New York City. As he prepared to leave to go after Rand, Davos first visited Priya, who was silently meditating as Davos had quietly knocked on her door.

Davos informed her of his decision, finding that his mother would not respond to him, which Davos assumed was due to her still feeling ashamed of him following his defeat in the Duel of K'un-Lun. Despite his mother seemingly ignoring him, Davos noted how he knew how much Priya had sacrificed for him to be a greater warrior. Davos also admitted that he knew there were many things that they struggled to communicate with each other. Davos acknowledged that he may never return home and invited her to speak to him, but found Priya said nothing, as Davos then left promising to make her proud.[1]

"One day, you were just gone. Without a word. I kept waiting, Danny, thinking you'd be back. What happened?"
"I'm not sure I can explain."
"You owe me an answer. The people of K'un-Lun need to know why they were abandoned."
―Davos and Danny Rand[src]

Davos made his way to New York City to find and collect his brother, leaving K'un-Lun far behind him on his quest to return Danny Rand to guarding the pass. Davos headed straight towards Rand Enterprises Building where his friend had reclaimed his name, finding it closed. While outside the building, Davos had then bumped into Harold Meachum, with the pair sharing a prolonged look at each other before Davos had then walked away to continue his search for Rand.

Davos is threatened by a food truck owner

Seeking a place to continue waiting for Rand, Davos walked inside a food truck where he was greeted by the owner, who mistook Davos for a rude customer and told him that he could order some food at the window rather than the door. When Davos had stepped inside the truck, the owner assumed that he was potentially attempting to rob him and proceeded to threaten Davos with a wrench while telling him to get out. However, without saying a word to the man, Davos was able to easily disarm and knock him out cold before he then calmly locked the door behind him as he waited for Rand to show up.

Not wishing to draw any more unwanted attention to himself, Davos tied up the food truck owner and gagged him, while he looked at the man's copy of Forbes which also featured Rand's image on the front cover, as Rand had retaken Rand Enterprises since his return to New York, earning him billions of dollars as a result. In order to pass the time while waiting to catch a sight of Rand, Davos began making shurikens out of tin foil and then throwing them at the wall by the owner, who was terrified as the shurikens hit the wall inches away from his head, while Davos had calmly made his next one.

While Davos was still waiting and throwing more tin foil ninja stars, he caught sight of a guard leaving Rand Enterprises who had received intel that Rand was spotted in Chikara Dojo. Davos decided to follow him, in the hopes of locating the Iron Fist. Davos followed the man back to Chikara Dojo where he stood on the other side of the street and witnessed the now unconscious Rand being loaded into a car by Bakuto. Rand was joined by Colleen Wing while Claire Temple had insisted on going with them; however, Bakuto and Wing simply drove away with Rand with them. Davos watched the incident from across the street and followed, believing Rand to be in danger.[12]

Fighting The Hand[]

"It's the Hand."

Needing to confront Danny Rand, Davos then followed them and appeared at the compound, where he eventually encountered Rand who had just successfully battled against Bakuto, preparing to fight two other people. Davos ran to his friend's aid and managed to sneak up on two soldiers who were just about to attack Rand and quickly subdued them both. Davos chastised Rand for being the worst Iron Fist ever before advancing to the exit, leaving Rand calling out his name in disbelief, before soon following Davos.

As they headed towards the exit with the alarms sounding, Davos then told Rand that Lei Kung had sent him to collect Rand and, when Davos questioned who was attacking them, Rand informed him that it was the Hand, much to Davos' horror. Davos vowed to kill as many of the Hand as he could just as they were cornered in a corridor on both sides. The two Order of the Crane Mother warriors responded by fighting against their enemies, teaming up to subdue them all before continuing to make their way towards the exit as quickly as they could before they could soon become surrounded.

Davos responded by breaking Darryl's leg and pulling Rand away. At the gate, Davos demanded that Rand use the Iron Fist to bust them free, only to discover that Rand was now unable to while Bakuto explained that his Chi had been destroyed by his anger and confusion over all of his recent betrayals.

With no other choice, Rand and Davos charged forward and engaged Bakuto's army of Hand soldiers, using all their abilities to gain the upper hand against their more inexperienced foes. In a moment's break between the fight, Davos reminded Rand that he was going against their own plan as they then continued fighting against the seemingly unending Hand soldiers. However, Colleen Wing decided to betray the Hand and opened the gate in order to allow Rand and Davos to get away during all the chaos, as Davos subdued the last soldiers behind them with a hard punch to the head.

Davos-YouHaveFailed

Davos insisting on Danny Rand's failure

Having made it back to New York City, Davos noted that they needed to get Rand stitched up before they could return to K'un-Lun. When Rand had still claimed he would not be going back with him, Davos then confronted his friend over failing to keep guard over their home, noting that he clearly had no issue leaving them. Rand insisted that he needed to protect all of the people of New York, only for Davos to remind him that those people had tried to kill him before telling Rand he had failed in every way, noting Lei Kung was now the only person who could finally restore all of Rand's broken Chi once again.[10]

―Davos and Danny Rand[src]

On the outskirts of New York City, Davos once again pushed Danny Rand to return to K'un-Lun with him, leading to Rand asking how Lei Kung had responded to him leaving the city, with Davos explaining he was confused and very pissed off. When Rand asked how Davos had found him, he told him he had followed them to the Hand Compound after he was taken from Chikara Dojo, also noting he found Rand in New York through the internet, showing off a video of Rand that had previously gone viral.

Rand smashed Davos' phone, noting Bakuto may be able to track it before insisting that they must remain in the city for longer. Davos argued that the path to K'un-Lun would close soon, trapping them outside it, but Rand explained that the Hand had killed his mother and father in the plane crash years earlier which was why he had to stay. They argued about the Iron Fist's responsibilities, with Davos expressing his own great disappointment at not being chosen to be the one to face off against Shou-Lao. Eventually, Davos had agreed to help, provided they return home once the Hand was defeated.[5]

Meeting Claire Temple[]

"I'll make him. If I have to."
―Davos and Claire Temple[src]

Seeking some medical aid for the wound that Bakuto had previously inflicted upon him, Davos and Danny Rand had then gone straight over to the Apartment of Claire Temple, with Davos referring to her as a healer while Temple questioned where Rand had been and what had happened as soon as she opened the door; however, when Rand showed her his bleeding injury, she immediately had then brought them inside for treatment in order to stop Rand's bleeding.

Temple took Rand inside and began treating his wound from where Bakuto had stabbed him during the previous Escape from the Hand Compound. Davos watched Temple as she pulled out Bakuto's blade and also recommended he heal himself with the Chi, which had surprised Davos to learn that she had been told of his abilities. Davos complimented Temple on all her skills as a healer as she stitched up Rand's wound, but as Temple asked where Colleen Wing was, Rand asked Davos to make sure they were still safe as he told Temple the whole truth, leaving Davos frustrated over still not being included.

While Rand went onto the roof to restore his Chi, Davos stayed in the apartment to look after Temple as they discussed food and living conditions back in K'un-Lun, as Davos rejected Temple's offer to eat pizza with her. They discussed the concept of Chi as Temple had been studying it, with Davos explaining that the Iron Fist was granted to those who defeated Shou-Lao, something Temple found hard to believe as Dragons were still nothing more a myth to her, jokingly comparing the idea to Pete's Dragon, much to Davos' confusion as he did not know who Pete was, which had amused Temple.

When Temple had asked if Davos also had the Iron Fist, he explained there was only one, hinting at his disappointment that Lei Kung had chosen Rand over him to take the test, claiming that Kung had made a mistake. When Temple noted that Rand was only trying to do good and he belonged in New York City, Davos lost his temper, noting that the people of K'un-Lun and cared and raised him and he had simply betrayed them all by leaving without any warning. Davos managed to control himself and immediately apologized for his anger, noting that he would soon force Rand to return to K'un-Lun if he needed to.

DavosEatingPizza

Temple collected her pizza from Joe's and offered Davos a slice, which he had confessed to quite enjoying despite previously insisting that it would be poison for body and soul. They were joined by Rand who asked if Temple still had the iPad which he got in China, telling the pair they needed to take it to Harold Meachum and ask for his help, although Temple insisted he needed to think his plan through before charging forward. Rand insisted that he wanted was for the Hand to be done with before he would return to K'un-Lun, so Temple asked Davos to give them privacy, with Davos commenting about keeping guard.[5]

Seeking Help[]

―Davos and Harold Meachum[src]

Seeking a new ally in their fight, Davos and Danny Rand then went to meet with Harold Meachum inside of his Penthouse. While Rand was greeted by Harold and Joy Meachum, Davos still waited inside the elevator until Rand invited him forward to be introduced to the Meachums, with Rand then introducing Davos as somebody else from K'un-Lun. Harold immediately asked if Davos also had the Iron Fist, only for him to be told that he did not, although Rand still insisted that he was a highly skilled warrior and willing to fight with them.

Taking a seat, Davos then listened closely while Rand explained in detail about Bakuto's Hand Compound which Davos noted had too many Hand guards for them to fight alone. Harold, however, insisted they did not need to attack Bakuto, but would instead draw him out by attacking his money, noting he was taking Madame Gao's money from Rand Enterprises and putting it into his own accounts, therefore Joy could simply stop the transfer. Davos noted that Bakuto was still a skilled fighter, but Harold insisted he would not be able to stop both Davos and the Iron Fist if it had come down to a final battle.

Davos demands answers from Danny Rand

While outside Bakuto's base, Davos and Rand reminisced about their time in K'un-Lun, remembering the time they had accidentally come across Lei Kung meditating in the nude while attempting to see the women bathing. Davos and Rand had then discussed if he had been poorly chosen to be tested by Shou-Lao and becoming the Iron Fist instead of him, as Rand noted he got flashes of rage that damaged his Chi. Davos, however, argued that Rand going against Kung was the reason for his personal and emotional doubts. Davos confessed that he had always believed the Iron Fist was his birthright.

DavosStandingInRain-Lightning

Davos began confronting Rand yet again about leaving K'un-Lun and abandoning his post, claiming he had stolen the Iron Fist from them. Rand confessed he had doubted himself from the moment he arrived at K'un-Lun and the moment he became the Iron Fist, telling Davos that while guarding the pass he saw a hawk which allowed him to leave, although Davos claimed New York City was not worth fighting for despite the strong connection which Rand clear had for it. They were interrupted by seeing Colleen Wing escaping the Compound, at which point Rand ran to her aid while Davos simply watched.[5]

DavosArguesWithColleen

As they returned to New York, Wing explained that Bakuto had tried to kill her, although Davos insisted she could not be trusted as she was a member of the Hand, questioning who she was to Rand. To Davos' horror, Wing made it clear she knew who he was although Wing had insisted she would never harm Rand, which Davos did not believe due to his hatred of the Hand. Davos suggested destroying the compound, but Wing refused to save her Chikara Dojo students, claiming that they were not actually bad people but that they had just been misled by Bakuto's teachings where he had lied to them.

DavosQuestioningRandWing

Davos questions Danny Rand's motivation

Davos claimed Wing was simply trying to seduce the Rand into joining the Hand before committing on how he had broken her own students during their escape from the compound earlier. All these torments eventually led to Wing furiously punching Davos directly in the face as Rand got between them as a fierce argument broke out, as Davos insisting that it was the duty of the Iron Fist to destroy the Hand and if Rand was unwilling to do it, then he would. When Rand promised they would all destroy the Hand together, Davos claimed New York had confused him and was the cause of him losing his Chi.[13]

While at Chikara Dojo, Davos told Danny Rand that he and Colleen Wing were both seemingly losing the focus on their battle just before Rand got a call seemingly from Ward Meachum. Much to his horror, the caller was in fact Bakuto who had taken the Meachum family hostage, even shooting Joy Meachum in the gut. Bakuto then demanded that Rand come and surrender or he would kill all the hostages. Although Davos insisted Rand could not surrender to Bakuto, he ignored his advice and left, much to Davos' annoyance.

Davos had eventually got into a knife fight with the soldiers, losing his own blade while keeping his enemy's knife away from his own throat. Davos managed to break his foe's arm and even stabbed him in the side, but the fight continued as he had refused to yield.

Having wrestled the man onto the floor, Davos attempted to strangle him to death, finding that the man had continued to try and get free. Eventually, Davos finally regained his knife and managed to plunge it into the Hand soldier's heart, finally killing him. Meanwhile, Wing and defeated her enemy while Rand had managed to gain the upper hand against Bakuto, who was now without any back up to protect him. Seeing that he was clearly outmatched by them all, Bakuto chose not to fight and instead ran through New York City while the three chased after him, refusing to allow Bakuto to get away with his life.

Davos chased down Bakuto with the other three until they cornered him in Central Park. Bakuto challenged his former student Wing to be the one to battle him, noting that Iron Fight and Davos were both true warriors trained with the Order of the Crane Mother, while Wing was nothing more than the teacher of children at Chikara Dojo. As Bakuto and Wing began fighting with their katana swords in the rain, Davos noted to Rand that he must not intervene, as Bakuto was Wing's old sensei and therefore this was her fight to win, even when it appeared that Bakuto was gaining the upper hand against Wing.

Eventually, Wing defeated Bakuto by stabbing him into the stomach but refused to land the finishing strike against him, instead of wishing to hand him over to the New York City Police Department. Davos was mortified at this, noting that it was still their duty as warriors to kill a leader of the Hand, not have him arrested. While Bakuto had begun mocking Rand, claiming this was never his father's intention for him and the Iron Fist was merely a weapon for K'un-Lun, Davos insisted they honor their mission. Seeing Rand was not willing to, Davos then stepped forward and had stabbed Bakuto through the heart.[13]

With Bakuto finally lying dead from Davos' final fatal strike, Davos then insisted that Danny Rand was failing at his mission by not killing a leader of the Hand as they had been trained to do, claiming that he was clearly not the warrior that he was expected to be, as it was still the duty of the Iron Fist to destroy the Hand, not have the New York City Police Department arrest them and put them into cages like he was planning on doing with Bakuto. When Colleen Wing had insisted that it was not that simple, Davos had yelled out that she did not have a say in the matter, while Rand defended her from him.

Davos-vs-IronFist-FirstFight

Davos noted that if Chodak and Tashi had never found Rand in the mountains following his plane crash, then maybe K'un-Lun would have been better off. Enraged by this, Rand turned and attacked his friend, as they began using all their training to defeat one another. As Davos managed to knock Rand back, he furiously accused Rand of choosing the people of New York City who he had despised over the people who had raised him up back at K'un-Lun. Although they were mostly evenly matched, Rand eventually managed to gain the upper hand and furiously demanded that Davos finally yield the fight.

DavosDefeatedByIronFist

Refusing to give in easily, Davos continued fighting until Rand pinned him down and again demanded him to yield, noting how he had defeated him before back in K'un-Lun and that he had just managed to do the same here. When Davos attempted to get back up, Rand harnessed his Chi and threatened him with the Iron Fist. Rand then told Davos that while it was selfish and wrong of him to leave without warning, he had now learned that the Iron Fist should not only be for K'un-Lun, as he could do good within New York, insisting that he was both Danny Rand and the Iron Fist as Davos then yielded.

With the fight over, Rand allowed Davos to get back up before telling him that he only wishing Davos could understand what he was going through. Davos, however, told his former friend that he would never be able to understand all the choices Rand had made with betraying their home, instead of telling him that he only knew that the path to K'un-Lun was now open and there was no Iron Fist protecting them from future attackers. Having told Rand that consequences would be upon him, Davos turned and walked away, disgusted by all of Rand's actions as he not only betrayed K'un-Lun but their friendship.[13]

Sometime later, Davos had left New York City and traveled to Tibet, and on the way back he met up with Joy Meachum in Paris as they discussed Danny Rand's recent return from the dead and how that effected their lives since. Davos stated that Rand becoming Iron Fist had changed him, and Davos also reasoned that Rand destroyed everything that he touched, including Meachum's own life. Davos then offered to help Meachum get rid of Rand, which Meachum had seemed to be open to. Meanwhile, Madame Gao was also sat nearby, listening closely to their conversation.[14]

Arrangements with Yang[]

"No more stories. You raise the price again you, your wife and your business will suffer."
Hai-Qing Yang and Davos[src]

Seeking to gain his revenge, Davos attempted to gain possession of the body of a previous Iron Fist for his upcoming ritual to steal the Iron Fist from Danny Rand. Having learned that Orson Randall was the man who had access to the body, Davos had then made a deal with the Yangsi Gonshi to have this transported to him from Randall. When Davos was told there was an update, he then went over to the Red Hook Pier, finding all of the workers quickly moved aside.

DavosYangMeeting

Davos during a meeting with Hai-Qing Yang

There Davos had met with Hai-Qing Yang, the leader of the Yangsi Gonshi, who informed Davos that although the shipment was still on its way there, the price for transporting it had just gone up, which greatly annoyed Davos as he reminded Yang of their original deal which they had already agreed on. Yang had then explained that the Golden Tigers were attempting to take control of the docks, putting the shipments at risk of being blocked by customs and told Davos that the price had gone up to four million dollars in order to ensure that the shipment would be safe from the Tigers sabotaging it.

DavosMockedByYang

Davos is given an insult from Hai-Qing Yang

Annoyed, Davos told Yang of how in K'un-Lun, all those who broke their word were put to death by having their bodies thrown into a deep ravine where Davos would then break their bones to ensure their deaths, which had resulted in Yang's own men stepping forward and threatening Davos while armed with their hatchets, now ready to strike him down if he dared make a move against Yang. Seemingly outnumbered, Davos told Yang that he would discuss the deal with Joy Meachum before preparing to walk out of the docks while greatly annoyed that Yang would dare change their deal without warning.

DavosThreateningYang

Before he could leave, however, Yang told Davos how his wife would claim that these docks were a cautionary tale about fish becoming other peoples meals. Believing that Yang thought that he was weak for agreeing to this deal, Davos used the martial arts skills which he had learned with the Order of the Crane Mother to brutally kill two of Yang's men in mere seconds, taking their hatchets and cutting their throats. With that, Davos warned Yang that if he ever raised the price for their deal again, then his own family and business would suffer the consequences before Davos then walked out of the docks.[6]

Updating Joy Meachum[]

"He changed the price we agreed on. He has no honor, no moral center. I debase myself by association with him. It's not just Yang, it's this city. ―Davos to Joy Meachum[src]

Following the tense meeting with the Yangsi Gonshi, Davos went to meet with Joy Meachum at her new Apartment to update her on the situation. Meachum offered Davos a drink, but he noted he did not drink and regulated his own diet to ensure his body was at peak physical perfection. Davos then informed Meachum that Hai-Qing Yang changed the price, as Davos complained that his connection with Yang as well as New York City itself was a plague upon him.

While Davos continued to complain about how sickened he was by New York, Meachum had simply teased him by commenting on their traffic jams, which she had claimed were also a nightmare to be dealt with. Changing the subject, Davos noted that Meachum seemed upset while she was drinking her wine and asked what was wrong, as Meachum then explained that Danny Rand and Ward Meachum had been there, noting how difficult it was to look Rand in the eye due to what they were planning for him, referring to their plan to steal the Iron Fist from Rand's body and give it over to Davos.

When Davos questioned if this experience of manipulating Rand was something she had enjoyed, Meachum noted that she did at first, but Rand had stayed behind and had actually been kind to her, although Davos still referred to Rand as a fool. Davos questioned if Meachum had been wavering with her belief with the current mission, to which Meachum turned around to Davos and still insisted that she was not, and instead was simply drinking. With his concerns with Meachum's commitment to the cause, Davos had turned and walked out without another word, to focus on completing his dealings with Yang.[6]

Reunion with Iron Fist[]

Wishing to see his former friend face to face, Davos went to Chikara Dojo where he then waited for Danny Rand to arrive so he could confront him over everything that had happened. Eventually, Rand had arrived alongside Colleen Wing, as Rand expressed his great surprise at seeing Davos there and questioned where he had been, to which Davos simply answered that he had been in New York City. Rand then questioned why Davos had not reached out to him at any point while he had been in New York, to which Davos had simply claimed that it simply had not been the right time.

As Rand claimed that there was a lot they needed to talk about, Davos mentioned K'un-Lun and noted how their home was gone due to Rand walking away from them as Davos once again insisted that if Rand had come back when Davos told him to then the Order of the Crane Mother would not have been slaughtered by their enemies. Rand insisted that he had his reasons for staying in New York, to which Davos noted that one was allying with a soldier of the Hand, pointing to Wing. Before a clash could start, Davos then insisted that he and Rand now had family matters that they needed to discuss.

Davos asked to speak with Rand alone as they left Wing at Chikara Dojo as Rand noted that a lot had happened since they last saw each other, noting that New York was now his home. Davos noted that Rand had inherited Rand Enterprises from his father and was, therefore, a rich man, although Rand insisted that his focus was not on money but protecting New York. This comment angered Davos as he noted that Rand had not protected K'un-Lun, although Rand insisted that he had destroyed the Hand by defeating Alexandra Reid and Bakuto, to which Davos noted that K'un-Lun had paid the price.

Although Rand continued trying to argue that he had done what he thought was right, Davos was getting considerably more annoyed and questioned if he had ever listened to what Lei Kung had taught him. Davos then struck Rand in the chest, reciting Kung's teachings to them while Rand insisted that Davos needed to stop what he was doing before catching Davos' next blow before he could hit him yet again, telling Davos that he did remember all Kung's teachings. Still quoting Kung's teachings, Davos then attempted to land a furious series of strikes against Rand, letting his anger get the better of him while Rand was still able to block most of Davos' strikes.

Davos was able to grab Rand by the throat and pushed him against the railings, furiously telling Rand that he had always been weak and insisting that without Kung's help, Rand would have never won the Duel of K'un-Lun. While Rand insisted that this was not true, Davos noted that once Rand got the power of the Iron Fist, he had run away to his money in New York, commenting that when he had come to take him home, Davos had also witnessed Rand's cowardice during the Duel at Bethesda Terrace when Rand had refused to land the final killing blow against the mortally wounded and defeated Bakuto.

As Davos then compared Wing to a Hand whore, Rand refused to allow him to continue speaking as he pushed Davos away from him and proved himself to be the superior fighter as he swiftly subdued Davos and threw him down to the ground, warning Davos that if he dared to speak about Wing like that ever again, then he would break him while the irritated Davos had got back onto his feet. Davos then questioned if Rand would change what had happened if he could, to which Rand had insisted that there was no going back since he won the right to fight Shou-Lao and now the Iron Fist was his to wield.

When Davos commented that his victory was still debatable, Rand pointed to the Mark of Shou-Lao; however, Davos hinted that there was a way to give all the power of the Iron Fist back over to him and questioned if Rand would be willing to hand it over to him. Although Rand insisted that the Iron Fist gave him a purpose in life, Davos had noted that he did not actually know what it was or how to use it, but still, Rand refused to hand it over to Davos. Rand invited Davos to ask his questions, but Davos had simply noted that Rand had already answered everything he wanted to ask and then he walked away.[6]

Hatred Intensifies[]

―Davos and Joy Meachum[src]

Angered by the failed meeting with his former friend, Davos had then met with Joy Meachum back at her Apartment where he sat down and then informed her that he had just gone to speak with Danny Rand. Meachum was initially worried that Davos had gone too far but he noted that despite having the opportunity to break his neck, he had still allowed Rand to live while Meachum had then questioned why Davos would risk everything they had been working for in order to speak with Rand face to face.

Davos explained that he had wanted to give Rand the opportunity to hand over the Iron Fist to him of his own free will, only to be rejected as Davos claimed that this was done out of mercy. Davos also noted how Meachum had given herself the chance to speak with Rand face to face along with Ward Meachum, as Davos noted that he felt he needed to speak with Rand himself, claiming that Rand's pompous and conciliatory tone had made Davos remember how much Rand had twisted their shared history together to create his own narrative where he destroyed the Hand and seemingly became a hero.

Agreeing with what was being said to her, Meachum then compared Davos' experiences to Rand as well as her own brother having lied to her about Harold Meachum's survival, where they had both lied and manipulated her for decades. Meachum noted that the moment Rand had returned to New York City and come back into her life, he had destroyed everything she had held dear, from her family to her work within Rand Enterprises. Meachum told Davos that she wanted Rand to experience what this was like, as Davos then promised her that he would learn as Davos would personally teach him his suffering.[6]

Finding the Singing Bowl[]

In their attempt to locate a Tibetan Singing Bowl which they would need for their ritual to transfer all the power of the Iron Fist away from Danny Rand and into Davos, Joy Meachum held her party with an antique collected, Mika Prada in which Davos attended. Not enjoying parties, Davos had chosen not to join Meachum while she spoke with Prada, ignoring offers of champagne as the party continued while being aware that he had become the topic of Meachum and Prada's current conversation as Prada had taken a sexual interest in the mysterious Davos.

Although Prada had attempted to make flirtatious small talk with him, Davos noticed that Ward Meachum was speaking with his sister and went over to make sure that everything was okay. While Ward was still considerably angry about all information which Meachum had learned from Mary Walker about him, Meachum told him to be nice and greet Davos, which Ward did mockingly and claiming that he gave their relationship no more than a week. Davos then informed Meachum that Prada was ready to show them the bowl and he and Meachum then walked away from Ward who remained annoyed.

Prada then had shown Davos and Meachum all the items from the collection of Ernst Erskine, including the bowl which they required. When Davos tried to take the bowl, Prada insisted that he could not touch it as it was too valuable. Davos then demanded the bowl as it was, to which Prada claimed that it was yet to be priced but insisted that it was outside his price range. Meachum then asked if she would be able to afford to buy the bowl herself, claiming that it spoke to her, to which Prada claimed that she could speak to her partners about selling it as it would be coming up for auction within three months, to which Davos had simply insisted that he needed it immediately.

With Prada still refusing to hand over the bowl to them, Davos had briefly considered using a nearby blade to kill her, but Meachum had demanded that he not. Davos, however, insisted that their plan to take all Rand's power away from him would not work if they did not have the bowl, to which Meachum had promised she would handle Prada and ensure they got the bowl by the end of the night. When Prada asked what they would like to see next, Meachum suggested that they return to the party and continue drinking, while Davos had remained sober and waited for Meachum to make her move.[2]

Eventually, Davos joined Joy Meachum and Mika Prada as they had then returned into Meachum's Apartment, where both of the women continued drinking while Davos remained sober and uninterested in joining them. Davos sat away from the women, despite being invited to sit closer to them. While Prada got up to get more alcohol, Meachum explained to Davos that Prada had recently married a congressman and would do anything to prevent a scandal from breaking out and then suggested Davos should have sex with Prada.

DavosSeducedByWomen

Davos complained that this tactic of blackmailing Prada through sex was distasteful, to which Meachum argued that if Davos had wanted the Tibetan Singing Bowl, then his code of honor had to be put aside in favor of his mission, claiming that it was only sex and not torture. Before long, Prada returned with more drinks as she questioned if Davos really hated the experience of being with them so much, as Meachum had then softly touched Davos' leg and claimed that this was not the case, before stepping outside in order to leave Davos and Prada alone as Prada gently touched Davos' skin in her attempt to seduce him.

Although Davos had attempted to stop Prada from touching him, she persisted, much to Davos' discomfort as he recalled the vows of the Order of the Crane Mother which he had made back in K'un-Lun to swear off women and all other pleasures of life. Although wanting to resist, Davos allowed Prada to remove his jacket and bite on his ear before unbuttoning and removing his shirt while teasing each other with a kiss. Stressed over breaking his vows, Davos grabbed Prada around the throat before they got on the couch and made passionate sex together, all while Meachum had secretly filmed everything.[2]

The next day, Davos was asked to come to Red Hook Pier where he had met with Hai-Qing Yang who had first thanked him for coming at such short notice. Questioning if his shipment from Orson Randall had arrived early which Davos hoped was the reason why he had been called there, Davos was instead given back all of the money which he had previously paid to Yang for the shipment, much to Davos' great confusion as he had then demanded an explanation.

Yang explained that he was meeting with the Golden Tigers and his power over the Pier would be in question, and as a result, he would not be able to deliver Davos' shipment as he had promised. Deeply annoyed, Davos warned Yang that this was not the day to test him as he had just made many sacrifices, including breaking his vow to the Order of the Crane Mother by sleeping with Mika Prada the night before; however, Yang had simply argued that he was making this plan change in order to prevent the Triad War from continuing and putting any more innocent lives into harm's way as a result.

Davos questioned if all this was in order to make peace, which Yang confirmed it was. However, when Davos softly pulled Yang to him for a hug, he quietly performed Devil's Claw, a move which he had learned back in K'un-Lun and then landed three deadly blows to the pressure points on Yang's neck. With this, Davos wished Yang a good day and left, as Yang then had a stroke as a result of Davos' silent attack.[2]

―Davos and Joy Meachum[src]

As Davos returned to Joy Meachum's Apartment, Davos had passed by Sofia Rios just as she was leaving, who Meachum claimed she was looking to go into a business partnership with. Davos had then commented that while he was at K'un-Lun he had studied the tactics of Sun Tzu, Hammurabi and Khalid ibn al-Walid, making the comparison with the teachings and Meachum's way of doing business which he respected.

Meachum told Davos that she had plans in place for her future once their business with Danny Rand was dealt with, noting that this was actually why she had asked Davos to come over to her apartment. Meachum then explained that Rand had called her and invited her and Davos to come for dinner at Chikara Dojo with them, explaining that Rand had learned of their relationship having spoken to Ward Meachum who would have told him about how he had encountered them both while at Bailey's Auction House, as Meachum told Davos that they had to go as Rand was clearly suspicious of them.

Although Davos expressed a desire not to go as he noted that they would soon be done with Rand for good, Meachum noted that while she had not gone to any war schools, she did still know a lot about assessing risk, claiming that it would benefit them both if they could convince Rand that they were still his friends. Davos, however, told Meachum that Rand would not suspect a thing about their secret plans for him, noting that this dinner could simply be an invitation to dinner and nothing more, although Meachum had still insisted that a dinner invitation was never actually as simple as just dinner.[3]

Despite his objections, Davos joined Joy Meachum in traveling over to Chikara Dojo to accept the invitation to join their enemies for some dinner where they were greeted by Colleen Wing who greeted them with great enthusiasm, despite there still being clear tension between her and Davos, who shook Danny Rand's hand upon being invited in. With the mood beginning as highly tense between the three of them, Meachum had attempted to lighten the mood as she thanked Rand for the invitation and was invited to take off her coat.

While Davos helped Meachum remove her coat, he commented that it was going well, as Meachum noted the image of a strong-willed woman dating an arrogant prick was not difficult to convince them of. Meachum then commented to Wing that she remembered Chikara being a karate school when she was last there, complimenting them on the improvements and the neighborhood of Chinatown. Rand had questioned how Davos and Meachum knew each other, as Meachum explained how they had met in Paris, where Davos claimed he went on his way back from Tibet and they had struck a conversation.

Davos noted that he had heard a waiter call out the name Meachum and he recalled her from Harold Meachum's Penthouse where they discussed Bakuto. Meachum went on to claim that while they had grown up being worlds apart, they had found that they had several common interests which had drawn them together. While Wing then awkwardly smiled and commented on what a strange universe it was to bring them together, she offered Davos and Meachum a glass of wine each before Rand asked Davos to come up onto the roof with him to help with a grill he was doing, which Davos accepted.

While they were onto the roof together, Rand commented on the last time they had seen each other, as Davos admitted that he still had a temper which was likely why their encounter had quickly resulted in the brief fight between them. Rand then recalled how Lei Kung would teach them that the best way to deal with anger was to break rocks with their bare hands, as Davos had recalled breaking his wrist while doing this to control his own anger. The pair then commented on all their shared experiences of K'un-Lun, as Rand commented that Wing often told him to put on his jacket, not realizing how much Rand had gotten used to all the cold weather due to his time at K'un-Lun.

Changing their subject, Davos asked what they were cooking on the grill, to which Rand explained that they were meatballs for the pasta, as Davos had questioned if this was really how these were prepared, while Rand smiled, noting that this was how he prepared them.[3]

Colleen Wing then turned to Davos and asked about how his adjustment to moving to New York City from K'un-Lun had been, to which Davos claimed that he looked at any adversity as a welcome challenge, with Rand also questioning what Davos had been doing with his spare time, as Davos claimed he was exploring opportunities as they arose.

As the tension on the table remained highly awkward, Wing had then turned to Joy Meachum and had asked what she had been up to, to which Meachum refused to talk about her recent dealings in front of the man who ran Rand Enterprises, which did not help the awkward tension. Breaking all the silence, Meachum looked around the newly decorated Chikara Dojo and then questioned if turning the Dojo into an apartment meant Wing was no longer teaching martial arts, which she confirmed while Davos commented that maybe she was for the best, as Wing questioned what Davos meant by this comment.

Having been confronted, Davos commented that a teacher should lead by example, as he pointed to Wing's Katana and recalled how she had been given a moment of truth when she had stood over the wounded Bakuto and refused to kill him, as Davos claimed this was Wing walking away from that test of her character. Clearly annoyed, Wing attempted to confront Davos as Rand interrupted and tried to explain how Wing was working at Bayard Community Center, which only annoyed Wing more as she questioned what their real intentions were in coming, as Meachum questioned what she meant.

With Wing continuing to confront everyone on refusing to admit what they were really thinking, Davos became annoyed at her insults as he picked up his fork and considering attacking Wing with it. Once Davos had calmed himself down, he stepped over to the desk and saw the photographs that Mary Walker had taken of Rand, which he had gotten his hands on, which Davos feared put their plans at his of being exposed.

Although Rand tried to convince them to stay by noting that it was him and Ward who had decided to have them both over for dinner, although Ward had failed to turn up which only angered Meachum further as she agreed to then leave the Dojo with Davos, furious that Rand had continued to lie to her. Once they were on the streets of Chinatown, Davos explained how he had found Walker's photographs as they left to investigate how this happened.[3]

―Davos and Mary Walker[src]

Arriving at Mary Walker's Apartment, Davos had immediately entered alongside Joy Meachum, where they found Walker sat on her desk while listening to white noise. As Walker removed her headphones and engaged them, Davos then explained how they had found the photographs of Danny Rand and Colleen Wing which she had taken in the possession of Rand himself, as they questioned how this happened, with Meachum noting this likely meant that Walker's cover had been blown.

Davos' life being threatened by Mary Walker

Although Walker had assured them that everything would be alright, Davos remained unconvinced by her promises and they demanded answers, although Walker had requested that instead, they leave her apartment. When Davos threatened Walker by noting that he would make her tell him the truth, she drew her Twin Machetes and held them to Davos' throat, much to Meachum's horror who attempted to calm the situation. Davos, however, had still remained unintimidated by Walker's threats, once again questioning how Rand had gotten his hands on the photographs, smashing his fist down on the table until Walker had finally agreed to tell them everything she knew.[3]

Over the next few hours, Davos and Meachum continued questioning Walker over how Rand had gotten the photographs, as Walker still assured them both that she did not give Rand the photographs but promised that it was not something they had to worry about, which Davos claimed was both a paradox and a contradiction. Becoming considerably annoyed by all Walker's statements, Davos got into her face and demanded the truth, but Walker threatened that if Davos touched her, then he would lose his hand. Meachum then threatened to not pay Walker her money if she did not tell them the truth.

With Davos demanding to know who gave Rand those photographs, Walker explained how she was asking them to put blind trust in her, before commenting on how she had spent months tracking Rand, to the point that she knew how he ate, slept, fought and how not many people could handle his Iron Fist. Getting up, Davos told Meachum he had to go collect the Tibetan Singing Bowl and recruit the Crane Sisters, leaving Meachum to deal with Walker as Davos reminded her of how dangerous Walker was, while Meachum noted how if Walker wanted a fight then she and Davos would already be fighting.[15]

With limited time to complete his plans, Davos returned to Red Hook Pier where the container which Davos had previously arranged to have delivered by Hai-Qing Yang was being kept. Entering into the building, Davos had soon discovered that it had been taken over by the Golden Tigers who were now standing guard and stealing from all the containers, which had forced Davos to hide as best he could to avoid raising the alarm.

Sneaking up behind one of the guards, Davos silently got behind him and put him in a chock hold before calmly breaking his neck. Making his way through the containers, Davos kept out of sight of the guards while using the training of the Order of the Crane Mother to ensure he remained calm and prepared for battle. Coming across three more members of the Golden Tigers, Davos stepped out and claimed that he had come for what was his, as the men drew their knives and told him that he could not there, also explaining that everything there now belonged to the Golden Tigers and demanded that he leave.

Remaining calm, Davos had allowed the first member of the Golden Tigers to get close to him while threatening him with a blade, before Davos was able to disarm him and used his own blade to cut the man's throat. Before the other guards could even react to what had happened in front of them, Davos furiously threw the blade directly into another's stomach before charging forward to disable the other man with a punch to the throat as he proceeded to rip the blade out of the second man's stomach and had finally stabbed the third man directly into the heart, killing all three in a matter of seconds.

With all the guards now dead, Davos calmly threw one of the blades away before stepping to his container from Hancock Transport, as he stepped inside and had found a large crate inside waiting for him, as Davos then cut it free of ropes and finally opened up the crate which contained the corpse of a previous Iron Fist. Overlooking the body of the past warrior of K'un-Lun, Davos still paid his respects to his fallen brother before opening his shirt to see the Mark of Shou-Lao on the corpse's chest, as Davos proceeded to cut the Mark off his chest as he departed the building with it, leaving the corpse behind.[15]

Having finally gained everything that he had required to complete his long-held desire for power, Davos meditated while the Crane Sisters had prepared for the upcoming ceremony behind him. As they handed Davos a hot drink to calm his mind and body, the Crane Sisters had then laid Davos down flat on his stomach, awaiting the next step to become the Iron Fist and prove himself as a warrior who was worthy of K'un-Lun, which Davos had always desired to become.

Completing Davos' plan, Mary Walker also managed to successfully capture Danny Rand who was tied up in Eden Towers, having been drugged during his encounter with Walker. Rand was then handed over to Davos to then finally take all his power away from him, which Davos believed Rand was unworthy of. Davos had the Crane Sisters slice Rand down his side, causing Rand great pain before using his blood mixed up with the melted down Mark of Shou-Lao which was gained from the previous Iron Fist, to make a Steel Serpent tattoo on Davos' back, using Ceremonial Needles to complete the tattoo.

Having made the tattoo using the Tibetan Singing Bowl to mix all the contents together, as the combination of this being printed onto his skin would soon allow Davos to complete the ceremony, Davos had remained still, ignoring the pain of the tattoo being stabbed into his skin, making the traditional mark from K'un-Lun of the Steel Serpent. With the tattoo now finally completed, Davos stepped to the drugged Rand and told him that now Rand would give him what had always been his. Davos had then performed the ceremony, placing his hand to Rand's forehead and violently ripping the Iron Fist directly out from his body, which had then left Rand completely powerless.[15]

While Walker was tasked with removing the injured Rand and taking him back to New York City, Davos had put on a traditional face mask from K'un-Lun and proved their ceremony was a success, punching at a concrete wall using the power of Chi, completely obliterating it with his red Iron Fist, roaring at the top of his voice as he landed the impossibly powerful strike. Taking a moment to consider his success, Davos removed his mask and remembered K'un-Lun, thinking back to his former friendship with Rand when they had been children, both with their own ambitions to become the Immortal Iron Fist.

While honored that he had completed his mission, Davos had also thought of Priya, wishing that his mother had been alive to see him become the Iron Fist as she had been disappointed that he had lost the Duel of K'un-Lun. However, as Davos was celebrating his victory, he overheard several members of the Golden Tigers threatening a factory owner nearby, as they shot at the man and threatening to break his bones. Seeking to use his newly gained power to do some good, Davos went to the factory owner's aid, furiously attacking the Golden Tigers and killing them and saving the factory owner.

With those members of the Golden Tigers dead, the factory owner begged for his life by promising that he would not tell anybody what had happened, although Davos insisted that the man had nothing to fear from him, claiming that he had come to protect him. Once Davos had confirmed who the men were, he questioned where he could find more members of the Golden Tigers, as the factory owner explained about the Nightclub where Ho and other members could be found. As he left to slaughter his enemies, Davos was asked who he was, to which he simply answered that he was the Immortal Iron Fist.[1]

―Davos and Chen Wu[src]

Arriving at the Golden Tigers' Nightclub, Davos made his way past all of those in attendance, ignoring all of the extremely loud music that was playing and instead focusing only on his mission to destroy members of the Triads. When Davos' path was being blocked by one guard, he simply broke the man's wrist and then subdued him before continuing to make his way towards his target, subduing one other guard before he had stopped to overlook the Nightclub and had then found exactly who he was looking for.

Taking out several more guards who he threw into tables and down the stairs, Davos walked over to Ho, who was enjoying the company of several women who ran for safety along with the other guests to get away from Davos. Ho mistakenly thought Davos' public fight was his audition to become part of the Golden Tigers, telling him that he was impressed and offered him a drink, only for Davos to explain that he had come there to tell him that the Triad War was now over as he would personally end it, which Ho just merely scoffed at, as he had calmly called over more of his guards to take out Davos.

As Ho's men then drew their blades and attempted to cut him down, Davos calmly defended himself and slaughtered all the men without breaking a sweat, causing Ho to finish his drink and step up to Davos personally. With his blade still in his belt, Ho had then confidently prepared himself to fight Davos himself; however, just as Ho drew his blade, Davos used his Chi power to light up and Iron Fist and strike Ho directly in the chest. The force of the blow from the Iron Fist had caused Ho to be launched across the Nightclub as his lifeless body smashed into the wall as the impact fatally crushed his ribcage.

With Ho now lying dead at his feet, Davos had then stepped over to the last remaining man, Chen Wu, who instead of attempting to fight against Davos, promised that if he wanted to destroy the Triads, then he could help him by showing Davos where they could all be found, promising he would take Davos there himself. As Davos explained he wanted to destroy all criminals in New York City, he then got a text message from Joy Meachum, asking him to meet her. Preparing to meet Meachum, Davos told Wu to meet him with a list of targets and warned Wu against even considering going against him.[1]

Grasping his Destiny[]

―Davos and Joy Meachum[src]

Davos arrived at Joy Meachum's Apartment before she did, greeting Meachum upon her arrival, while the clearly annoyed Meachum then commented on how Davos had already made himself at home in her apartment. Meachum explained that Mary Walker had come by and shown her the video of Danny Rand being tortured and then thrown out onto the streets of New York City once his power had been taken away and given to Davos, and Davos asked if the video was everything that Meachum had hoped that it would be.

Davos and Meachum discussing their plans

Meachum said that now their mission together was completed, they should discuss the next part of their plan as Meachum claimed that they should no longer be seen together, requesting that Davos give her back her key. Davos, however, had noted that while they had completed what they had agreed to in Paris by taking away everything that had made Rand feel alive, he had only just begun, questioning if Meachum had believed that taking the Iron Fist would be the end for them, which Meachum confirmed.

Davos told Meachum that he had not simply taken the Iron Fist away from Rand, but he had become the very thing that Rand never had the strength to be, allowing him to finally fulfill his destiny. Although Meachum tried to dismiss Davos' claims of grandeur by commenting that it simply made his fist light up, Davos told her that the Iron Fist was not a weapon to merely be held, but it was to be used against his enemies and the enemies of K'un-Lun, vowing to do what Rand had always been unable to do, and end the Triad War once and for all by slaughtering all those involved, which had scared Meachum.

As Meachum insisted that whatever Davos was planning could not be linked to her, Davos told her that she could not pretend that nothing had ever happened. Davos told Meachum that he was now the Iron Fist, explaining how important this was to the Order of the Crane Mother, offering for her to join him. As Meachum hesitated at this, Davos warned that every decision would have consequences before walking out. On his way out the building, Davos recalled his final conversation with Priya before leaving for New York City, where his mother had failed to even say her final goodbye to him.[1]

"I don't care for the details. I know that they contribute to the putrefaction of this city."
―Davos and Chen Wu[src]

As requested, Chen Wu had met with Davos with his long list of the locations of various Triad members across New York City. Davos had Wu personally drive him to all of these locations where Davos would go inside and slaughter the Triad members inside with the power of the Iron Fist. As Davos stepped out of another building, wiping the blood from his fists, Wu tried to find out how it had gone, only for Davos to ignore him and instead simply walked to the car and asked where they were going next.

Wu suggested that they should go get some food together, as Davos informed him that he did not eat meat and insisted that they instead travel to their next target, which had annoyed Wu. Davos was driven to a garage where he saw several men playing cards, as Wu claimed it was connected with the Yangsi Gonshi, explaining how they would steal cars and sold them for parts. As Wu noted that the men inside also sold Oxycontin, he had questioned if Davos even knew anything about their ongoing Opioid Epidemic, only for Davos to insist that he did not care about details, only that these men were criminals.

Stepping out of the car, Davos had prepared to slaughter the Yangsi Gonshi, only to catch sight of Ryhno's Gang watching him from the side. Davos, however, chose to ignore Ryhno and his people, instead stepping inside of the Yangsi Gonshi's hideout and attacking that inside, as Wu turned up his car radio and watched while Davos used the Iron Fist to kill everyone inside before calmly walking out, wiping the blood from his fist. As Wu drove him away from the crime scene, Davos saw BB and Hex then taking advantage of the newly created situation to run inside the hideout and steal whatever money and or supplies that they could find there, which Davos chose to allow.

Following an entire evening of driving around New York City and then killing members of the Golden Tigers and Yangsi Gonshi, Davos was driven back to Eden Towers by Wu. While looking over the building, Wu suggested that he could take Davos to a nice hotel, but Davos refused, insisting that the Towers suited him just fine, claiming that it reminded him of K'un-Lun, although he still refused to tell Wu about it. Stepping out of the car, Davos told Wu to meet him back there the next day, explaining that this was merely the first day and there was much that still needed to be done to complete his mission.

However, before Davos stepped inside the Towers, he had returned to Wu's car and tapped on the window. Davos questioned Wu about Ryhno's Gang who he had seen outside the Yangsi Gonshi, as Wu claimed that those kids were just vultures looking to steal whatever they could, noting that he knew where their hideout could be found. As Davos confirmed that they did not have families, Wu questioned if he wanted them to be added to the list; however, Davos told him not to, wishing to see if they all had potential to join him instead of being slaughtered by him like the Golden Tigers and Yangsi Gonshi.[16]

―Davos to Danny Rand[src]

As Davos had stepped inside Eden Towers, he was greeted by Danny Rand who Davos calmly called his brother and noted that he had not expected to find him there. Rand questioned what Davos had been doing, to which Davos had then claimed that he had simply been doing the work of the Iron Fist in defeating his enemies and bringing peace to innocent lives in need, although Rand had pointed out that Davos still had some dried blood on his face, noting how Davos had been going all around New York City and murdering people.

DavosWalkingAroundRand

Davos, however, simply defended his actions, comparing his killings to putting a feral dog to sleep or curing a virus of a body, claiming that what he had been doing to the Yangsi Gonshi and Golden Tigers was not murder but justice. Davos went on to claim that Rand should be thanking him for freeing him of the responsibility of being the Iron Fist, which he had believed had become a burden for Rand. However, Rand claimed that Davos spat in the face of tradition by not earning the power by winning the Duel of K'un-Lun and then defeating Shou-Lao, but by kidnapping him and stealing the power from him.

DavosConfrontingDRand-EdenTowers

Angered by this, Davos noted that in abandoning K'un-Lun Rand had lost any right to speak about any other traditions. Davos then calmly walked around Rand, noting how due to his own wealthy upbringing within Rand Enterprises, he had grown up selfish, without a culture to honor and protect as Davos had. Rand, however, interrupted Davos and told him to stop justifying all his actions, noting that while Davos still believed he knew what he was doing, the New York City Police Department would not understand and would not hesitate and shoot him down, then offering Davos the chance to hand himself in.

DavosDRandArgument-Shadows

Davos, however, merely scoffed at Rand's suggestion, telling him that he knew what the risks were and claimed that this was simply what commitment to a cause looked like. Davos claimed that while Rand had said he was protecting New York, he had never had the strength of character to walk the hard line. Davos insisted that he had ended the Triad War in a single day, but Rand told him he had just become another faction, claiming Davos had disgraced what Lei Kung had taught them, to which Davos claimed that Kung had misled them and even vowed that he was willing to crush his own father's heart.

Davos told Rand that he was not angry and that he wanted Rand by his side in the upcoming conflict, admitting that he knew that Rand would not forgive him soon but noting he was willing to wait until he came around, claiming he was a paragon of virtue with a righteous cause. Before Davos could continue, Mary Walker then stepped out of the shadows and attacked him, furiously striking Davos across the face before tying up his hand with her trick wire. When Davos lit up the Iron Fist and strike back, Walker avoided the blow and flipped up over him, before injecting him in the back with a tranquilizer.

DavosDoubleFists

Although Davos had been pinned down and was unable to use his right arm, he instead lit up his other Iron Fist, much to the horror of Rand who had always been unable to do this. Before Rand or Walker could do anything to stop him, Davos then roared out and just all his might and smash his fist onto the ground, creating a shockwave that threw both Rand and Walker away from him. Davos then ripped the tranquilizer out of his back, only for Rand to attack him and push it back into his chest, while Davos still managed to defend himself and proceeded to punch Rand hard in the chest to knock him away.

Fueled by rage, Davos was able to subdue Walker before grabbing Rand and telling him that he had crossed a line, before throwing him down on his back. Although Davos was victorious and stood over his injured enemies, the effects from Walker's tranquilizer began to take hold, as Davos began struggling to walk or even remain on his feet. Stepping over to Rand, Davos knew he had to ensure that Rand did not try and ambush him again, lighting up the Iron Fist and striking Rand directly on the kneecap, shattering the bone and causing Rand considerable pain. With this done, Davos finally collapsed.[16]

Recruiting Ryhno's Gang[]

"You live on the fringes. You catch as catch can. And what if all that effort it takes to survive a day, a week, a year, was directed to a noble purpose? What if I could make you warriors? I can offer you a place to study, give you instruction in the martial arts. You can help me turn this neighborhood around and perhaps, one day, this city."
―Davos to Ryhno[src]

Continuing their mission, Davos and Chen Wu together then traveled to the hideout used by Ryhno's Gang, where Davos began using the power of the Iron Fist to punch holes through all the walls. Eventually, they were interrupted by the arrival of the gang themselves, who demanded to know what was going on, as Wu told them to back off. As Davos watched on from the side, Wiz and other members of the gang attempted to subdue Wu, only to be swiftly defeated.

DavosDestroysDoorway

Although Wu came out on top as the superior fighter, Ryhno himself then pulled his shotgun and threatened to execute Wu. Seeing this, Davos then made his presence known as he used the Iron Fist and completely obliterate the doorway, causing Ryhno to drop his gun in shock at Davos' display of power. Davos informed Ryhno and all his gang that he was not there to hurt them, but to free them as BB then asked Davos how he had gained such a powerful hit, as Davos had explained that he had trained his entire life at K'un-Lun to gain those abilities, questioning if they had ever had such a strong ambition.

Davos and Gang

Davos personally greeting all Ryhno's Gang

Davos noted how while he had been slaughtering the Golden Tigers and Yangsi Gonshi, Ryhno and his gang had been there to scavenge the remains, questioning if this was really how they wanted the world to see them. As Davos told the gang that he was offering them an opportunity, noting how New York City had failed them, BB mocked the idea. Davos then stepped up to BB and had noted how the gang lived on the fringes of society, suggesting that all the effort it took to survive could be directed onto a noble purpose, as Davos told them that he could then train them all to be warriors, promising that if they came into Eden Towers he would teach them to fight with him.

Having now gotten all their attention, Davos promised Ryhno's Gang that with his help, they could turn their own lives around and do good for New York by joining him. Ryhno questioned if Davos was being serious, which he had promised that he was, telling them to come to Eden Towers where they would be given food and a place to stay while Davos trained them in martial arts. Davos told the group that he would work them hard, but he would ensure that they were better for the hardship, asking them to trust him before he walked away, as BB had then commented on what a strange dude Davos was.[4]

Stepping outside, Davos was given a cloth from Chen Wu to wipe his bloody fists, as Wu asked when he wanted to attack the Yangsi Gonshi's massage parlor, as Davos insisted they would target that the following day.

Davos had told Wu that they would need to prepare for the upcoming arrival of Ryhno's Gang at Eden Towers where he would begin their training, although Wu then expressed his distaste for the gang and compared them to street rats who were not worthy of training under them. Davos, however, noted that Danny Rand would likely attack him again, claiming that anybody who ever held the Iron Fist would stop at nothing to get it back and so he needed warriors beside him. Wu noted that he could fight, to which Davos said that Wu was just one man, as Wu suggested Ryhno's Gang were all expendable.

Striking the thug across the face, Davos pressed his foot onto the thug's throat, pressing down as he looked at Wu and informed him that he was simply speeding up the process of cleaning New York of criminal scum who lived there, before finally crushing the thug's throat, much to the utter disgust of Wu.[4]

―Davos and Joy Meachum[src]

While he was training in Eden Towers, Davos was then visited by Joy Meachum who commented that this was exactly how she imagined him living, while Davos claimed that he needed nothing but the bare essentials. Davos expressed his great surprise at seeing Meachum again, noting that he had been disappointed by their last meeting, as Meachum discussed what her plans were before claiming that while nothing about her plans was real, what they had done to Danny Rand was real and that it had meant something important.

Meachum explained how she had changed the locks on her door as she had been afraid of what Davos could be capable of, although Davos insisted that he did not want to hurt her, reminding her of the potential that he had always seen in her. Meachum, however, claimed that she was more afraid of letting go than she was of Davos, noting that she would no longer ignore the fact that fate had brought them together for a reason, claiming that what they did to Rand might not have been enough. Meachum noted that she heard how Davos broke Rand's leg, as Davos had insisted that he was left with no choice.

Davos told Meachum how his plans went far beyond revenge, but building a future society which he could be proud of, as Meachum came onboard and noted that first Davos should focus on improving himself. While Davos tried to show Meachum around, she mentioned Mika Prada and had asked about the Tibetan Singing Bowl, questioning where it was.

While Davos would only say that the bowl was being kept close by, he was interrupted by the arrival of Ryhno's Gang who he welcomed. Upon arriving, Ryhno asked how Davos used the Iron Fist, which he claimed could not be explained quickly, while he also told the group that his new focus was not on bring destruction with the Iron Fist, but instead with bringing about change for good, which Ryhno accepted. BB asked Davos what his name was, as Davos introduced himself as the Immortal Iron Fist, while also insisting that BB and the Gang refer to him as Shifu, which BB and the rest of the Gang accepted.[4]

Over the next few weeks, Davos trained up Ryhno's Gang to become warriors, using the skills he had learned with the Order of the Crane Mother to teach all his students how to strike with deadly precision against their enemies in battle, reciting the lessons that he had been taught by Lei Kung back at K'un-Lun. During the lessons, Davos had shown off his own skills by putting his students in chock holds that they then could not escape from, before ordering them to continue with their practicing, all to prepare them for the day that Rand would return and attempted to steal the Iron Fist back from Davos.[17]

Seeking to continue his mission to destroy the Yangsi Gonshi, Davos was driven to the apartment of James Wong where they had learned that Sherry Yang had been hiding out. While they were both still sat waiting just outside the building Chen Wu asked for the opportunity to assist in killing Yang, to which Davos then noted that while Wu had helped him to destroy dozens of his enemies within the Yangsi Gonshi, he had also betrayed dozens of his former allies with the Golden Tigers, as Davos claimed that he would never trust Wu.

Davos then made his way up the stairs until he had reached Wong's apartment, where he used the Iron Fist to smash down the door and searched for his targets inside. However, Davos soon found that the apartment was empty, as Danny Rand and Colleen Wing had beaten him there and helped Yang to escape, finding that the tea was still hot, indicating that they had not been gone from the apartment for long. Unwilling to allow the leader of the Yangsi Gonshi to escape without facing his wrath, Davos gave chase, finding Wing fighting Wu before she had then successfully escaped with Rand and Yang.

Furiously that he lost his chance to kill the leader of the Yangsi Gonshi and the widow of Hai-Qing Yang, Davos furiously confronted Wu over how this could have happened, questioning if Wu betrayed him, to which noted how Yang took his eye during their last meeting. As Davos demanded to know how this happened, Wu then spotted a poster featuring his own car and asking for any information.[17]

"A killer. That's how they see me. They don't understand that all of this is a necessary component of what will be a great rebirth."
"Show them more. It's a sales thing. The way you brand yourself."
―Davos and Joy Meachum[src]

Returning to Eden Towers, Davos had found Joy Meachum snooping around and questioned why she had agreed to come with him on their mission together. Meachum claimed that she simply wanted to change and become a better person, to which Davos noted how she had previously been afraid of him before she changed her mind, questioning what had changed for her, although Meachum questioned if this really mattered which Davos had insisted it did for him to better understand her.

Davos continued questioning why Meachum would follow him if she had ever been afraid of him, to which Meachum had simply claimed that she knew Davos needed her just as much as she needed him, as she invited Davos to walk with her. Going past Ryhno's Gang as they had trained, Meachum commented on how Chen Wu was listening to her before noting how the facility was going to be converted by Rand Enterprises before they had bought it to become their new hideout, as Davos then questioned where Meachum was going with this line of thought, pushing Meachum to get to her point quickly.

Meachum explained how, despite his hard exterior, she knew Davos was a good and noble man, which was why she accepted his violent methods for achieving his goals. Meachum then showed Davos the posters of Wu's car which Danny Rand and Colleen Wing had put up, as Davos noted how they portrayed him to be the murderer, despite what he saw as necessary sacrifices for the greater good. Meachum suggested that Davos do more for New York City than killing people, promising that this would help get the people of the city on his side, as Davos had reluctantly accepted that Meachum was right.

Seeking to do some good, Davos prepared to leave the Towers and told Ryhno's Gang to come with them, much to Wu's surprise while Davos had told him that only the Gang were coming while Wu would arrange transportation. BB, however, told Ryhno that he did not want to go, claiming that he felt unwell, as Davos and Wu watched from the side as Ryhno punched BB in the stomach and ordered his fellow gang members to then throw BB into the dark room as punishment for disobeying Davos' direct orders, as the rest of the gang followed closely behind Davos, much to his own great satisfaction.[17]

Murder of Henry Yip[]

"There will be no charge. All that I ask in return is be a good man. Seek justice. Reject corruption. Do you have a problem?"
"No, I just want to stay out of all of this. I've learned from my mistakes."
"You don't believe I'm a good man?"
―Davos and Henry Yip[src]

Taking Ryhno's Gang along with him, Davos went out into New York City to try and do some good, as he demanded that the Gang make up for some of their past crimes, going to the Silver Lotus to personally apologize to Henry Yip for their previous threats and attacks against him. Yip initially promised to pay Davos despite the Golden Tigers being defeated, to which Davos insisted he did not want Yip's money, as the waitress knew Davos had ended the Triad War.

Davos-YouDontThinkImAGoodMan

Davos then had Ryhno step up and bow down to Yip, with Ryhno personally apologizing for how he and his gang had treated Yang and his staff, much to Yip's confusion. Davos then informed Yip that he would provide protection him without any charge, claiming that all he wanted in return for this protection being provided to him was for Yip to still be a good man, seeking out justice and rejecting corruption. Seeing the fear in Yip's eyes, Davos questioned if he had a problem with what was being offered, to which Yip claimed that he simply wanted to stay out all any business involving criminals.

This comment deeply offended Davos considerably as he questioned if Yip did not believe he was a good man. When Yip claimed that he simply did not want to take sides against either the Tigers or the Yangsi Gonshi, Davos took this to mean that Yip was still in league with the Tigers, which was why he had rejected Davos' offer as he wanted to continue serving the Tigers. While Yip had desperately attempted to defend himself, Davos furiously pushed him against the wall and lit up the Iron Fist, before punching straight through Yip's stomach, killing him as blood covered Davos' clenched fist.

Davos then told his followers that Yip was part of cancer that had plagued New York, to which Ryhno claimed that Yip had been telling the truth and was never in league with the Tigers, then claiming that Davos had just murdered an innocent man. As Ryhno had then tried to claim that BB was right about Davos, Crank then stepped up and slit Ryhno's throat, killing him and dropping his corpse down into the rubbish, while Crank recited the teachings of the Order of the Crane Mother to show his loyalty. Davos then confirmed that the others did not doubt his teachings before they left all the bodies behind.[17]

Anger at Meachum[]

"You wanna know where he is? I sent him to the FBI. He's telling them where to find the killer."
―Davos to Joy Meachum[src]

Returning to the Eden Towers, Davos found Joy Meachum was still there as he furiously claimed that he should have never listened to Meachum's suggestion about how to change his image in the eyes of the people of New York City. Meachum, however, stopped Davos in his tracks and insisted that he not shut her out of the situation as she was still a part of their overall plans, only for Davos to angrily claim that he did not believe in Meachum's technics in finding a way toward peace anymore and had realized only violence would actually change the city for the better.

DavosPointingAtHead-BloodyHand

While Meachum tried to convince Davos to stay and talk about what exactly had just happened to make him this angry, Davos raised his hand, which still had Henry Yip's blood on it, and claimed that only deaf ears and unruly children would be there to listen to his message and therefore he must bring New York to heal. Davos then claimed that the reason the children of the Order of the Crane Mother were beaten back at K'un-Lun was to break them all down emotionally and physically, until they finally submitted and accepted the truth within their hearts, a statement which clearly unnerved Meachum.[17]

Davos later realized that the Tibetan Singing Bowl had been stolen from him, as Davos had immediately suspected that Meachum was involved, have also discovered that BB had escaped from his cell and only Meachum could have let him out. Davos demanded that Meachum be honest with him over what had happened, although she insisted that she had done nothing wrong, noting that it was only through her that Davos had gotten the Bowl from Mika Prada and it seemed unlikely that she would recruit the aid of a young boy to steal it from Davos, although he had still remained unconvinced.

Davos then noted that he had the power to crush Meachum's life out of her with his bare hands, vowing that if she did not tell him the truth then he would take his time in beating her to death. With this threat, Meachum claimed she had sent BB to the FBI and he was giving up their location, as Meachum suggested Davos and Chen Wu go make their escape while they still could. While Wu had suggested that they should burn down the facility and run, Davos insisted that Meachum was lying, claiming that Danny Rand had put Meachum up to this to steal the Iron Fist back, as he could not accept his own failure.

As Meachum insisted that Rand did not know that she was there, she had told Davos that he had lost his mind and needed to be stopped, noting that Davos never earned the right to the Iron Fist and was therefore no better than the criminals he was slaughtering. Meachum then claimed that any adult, apart from Wu, could see right through Davos' bullshit. While Davos claimed that despite her strong words, Meachum was still scared of him, Crank arrived and informed him that BB was at Bayard Community Center with the Bowl, noting that BB had just made the mistake of calling him to explain this.

Davos then made plans to go capture BB and take back their Bowl, but Crank noted that the Golden Tigers and Yangsi Gonshi were both there waiting for a chance to make an assassination attempt on him. Davos then commented that he would thank BB for bringing him to his enemies' location before killing him. Davos then told Meachum she had a failure of vision, while she told him that he had nobody left, as his family was gone and he brutalized his best friend, questioning if he really wanted her dead. Davos responded by pushing Meachum off the balcony, uncaring if she had lived or died from the fall.[18]

"Guilty by association. Move. MOVE!"
―Davos and Danny Rand[src]

Arriving at the Bayard Community Center, Davos then had all of the remaining members of Ryhno's Gang blocking the exit while he had entered the building. Stepping inside the kitchen, Davos immediately encountered the Yangsi Gonshi attempting to get Sherry Yang and the innocent civilians out of harm's way. Telling Yang to head upstairs, Liu chose to face Davos alone, closing the door behind him as the enemies had then prepared to face off against each other.

Davos-vs-Liu

As Davos clenched his still bloodied fists, Liu removed his jacket and drew his twin hatchets, before charging at Davos in a furious attempt to kill him. Despite Liu's clear fighting abilities, Davos' own speed and training by the Order of the Crane Mother had given him a clear advantage in their duel as he was able to avoid all Liu's many furious strikes and push Liu away from him, quickly managed to throw one of Liu's hatchets away. Davos then immediately disarmed Liu and had then painfully kicked him right across the room, before taking his hatchet and throwing it into Liu's chest, mortally wounding him.

With Liu now in considerable pain and unable to defend himself due to the fatal wound, Davos calmly stepped over to his enemy and looked him straight in the eye while lighting up the Iron Fist. Without a word, Davos punched Liu across the face with such force that he completely removed Liu's head from his body, splattering blood across the walls. With the Yangsi Gonshi's security chief and main defense now lying dead at his feet, Davos turned around and calmly followed after Yang and the other Triad members who were still alive, seeking to end the Triad War once and for all by killing Yang.

Stepping into the main hall of the building, Davos found that the only person still standing in his way was Danny Rand, who was still limping following their last encounter. Davos noted how surprised he had been when he had previously seen Rand standing back up again when he had rescued Yang, as Davos claimed that while it gave him no pleasure to have crippled Rand, he would do worse if he stood in his way. Davos said he was there for the Tibetan Singing Bowl and to kill Yang once and for all, threatening to slaughter the innocent lives there just to get to Yang as he demanded to Rand move aside.

Rand confessed to Davos that if he could, then he would change his decision to leave K'un-Lun to return to New York City, apologizing to Davos for the pain this had caused him, while Davos insisted that he should have never been given the Iron Fist, but Rand claimed that Davos should not either. Kicking him across the room, Rand started a fight between them as he questioned why Lei Kung had ever ended the Duel of K'un-Lun in Rand's favor, while Davos claimed it did not matter, as Kung was now dead, which he blamed Rand for, as Davos had furiously fought back and almost hit Rand with the Iron Fist.

When Davos tried to land another fatal blow with the Iron Fist, Rand was able to block the strike as he pushed Davos away from him, as he questioned if Kung was trying to spare Davos' pride or if he knew what kind of monster Davos would become with the Fist. Ignoring this, Davos attacked Rand again, who was able to land several hits on Davos' face before Davos managed to land a kick against Rand. With Rand down on the ground, he claimed that he had attempted to get through to Davos but had now been left with no other choice as he then got straight back up to continue fighting against Davos.

Rand against Davos S2

Rand then revealed that he was armed with a tranquilizer like he had used with Mary Walker to subdue Davos previously, as Davos did everything in his power to then keep Rand from injecting him with it. However, when Davos managed to knock it out of Rand's hand, he still managed to catch it and plunged the needle into Davos' chest. However, this only enraged Davos even more as he began furiously throwing punches at Rand, only for the effects of the tranquilizer to cause him to lose focus and power in his punches, as Rand was able to easily keep Davos at bay while he had tried to keep himself awake and focused in order to then still continue fighting against Rand.

Davos-vs-DRand-ChockHold

Barely able to stand any more, Davos could do nothing to stop Rand from blocking his next punch as he was then put in a tight headlock and forced down onto the ground until despite fighting with every bit of strength he had left, Davos was put to sleep by the chock hold, leaving Rand victorious over Davos once again. While the New York City Police Department arrived on the scene to arrest Ryhno's Gang who had also been defeated, Detective Misty Knight agreed to assist Rand and Colleen Wing with then secretly taking Davos' unconscious body back into Chikara Dojo rather than having him arrested.[18]

The Transference Ceremony[]

"You can't stop the ceremony halfway through. The heart of the dragon will kill you both. You have to let Colleen complete the transfer."
―Davos and Danny Rand[src]

With Davos unconscious, he was taken to Chikara Dojo before being handcuffed to a pillar as the Crane Sisters gathered and prepared to conduct the same ceremony to steal the power of the Iron Fist. While Davos slept, his blood was drawn by Avalon and combined with Danny Rand's Mark of Shou-Lao to create the mixture for the tattoo for Colleen Wing. Once the tattoo was complete, the Crane Sisters departed, leaving Rand and Wing ready to begin the ceremony on the unconscious Davos who was unaware of what was happening.

Davos, however, was suddenly woken up once their ceremony took place and Wing used a technic of the Order of the Crane Mother to attempt to rip the power of the Iron Fist away from Davos, causing their eyes to light up green and Davos felt all the power being stolen, causing both Davos and Wing incredible pain. Unwilling to allow the power he had sought his entire life to take away from him, Davos had summoned the Iron Fist into both of his fists and then smashed down on the ground, which caused a massive shockwave which knocked Rand and Wing away from him and caused considerable damage.

DavosSeesWingsIronFist

As Davos got onto his feet, Rand saw his former friend as a potential enemy due to how angry he was at having the Iron Fist almost taken away from him, as Rand then drew Wing's Katana in order to keep him at bay, as Davos still insisted that Rand had failed once again. However, to Davos' horror, he discovered the ceremony was partially successful, as Wing had gained the Iron Fist.[18] Davos and Wing also discovered that failing to complete the ceremony in its entirety was causing them both intense pain, as the power of half transferred Chi was now burning uncontrollably through both their bodies.

Davos-TheIronFistIsMineAlone

As Davos questioned why Rand would even consider giving the Iron Fist to a former member of the Hand, Rand had insisted Davos must allow them to complete the ceremony before it had killed them both. Davos, however, refused, furiously declaring that the Iron Fist was his alone, as he once again gathered his power into his fist and smashed down on the ground with all of his might, managing to create another massive shockwave. While Rand and Wing were recovering from the shockwave which had caused even more damage to the dojo, Davos had then managed to make his hasty escape from the dojo.[8]

Battle at Eden Towers[]

"This doesn't belong to you. And it never did."
"To who then? A disciple of the Hand? Or her lover? The weak-willed pretender who fell from the sky. I am the last son of K'un-Lun!"
―Davos and Colleen Wing[src]

Returning to Eden Towers, Davos stormed inside and called out to Chen Wu, noting that Wu would finally have his chance to prove his worth to him as Danny Rand and Colleen Wing were currently on their way to his location. However, as Davos had called out to Wu that they must prepare for Rand and Wing's arrival, he then saw a pool of blood on the floor as he realized something had gone terribly wrong. Sensing some kind of incoming danger, Davos had then charged behind a pillar, barely avoiding a gunshot fired at him.

DavosHidingFromWalker

Seeking to get behind some better cover, Davos charged across the room as fast as he could, avoiding several more gunshots before he managed to get behind a brick wall. While more gunshots struck his cover, Davos heard Mary Walker mockingly calling out for him to take his time hiding there as she had more than enough bullets to kill him, as Davos had then questioned if Joy Meachum had recruited Walker to assassinate him, which Walker had openly denied as she instead claimed that she was only there for her amusement and because she really did not like Davos and had just wanted to see him dead.

Seeking a way out of the situation, Davos lit up his Iron Fist and used it to punch a concrete block, launching it at Walker, who was able to move out of the way and took a different position, allowing Davos to move out of his cover and hide while Walker followed closely behind him. Having managed to get out of sight, Davos had warned that he would soon kill Walker and then Meachum; however, Walker remained confident as she then promised to bring Meachum Davos' head on a stick. Walker's hunt for Davos was interrupted by the arrival of Rand and Wing, who then warned that Walker could not kill Davos.

DavosChockingCWing

Charging out from his hiding place, Davos tackled Wing and pushed her away from Walker and Rand who then engaged in their own fight armed with Wing's Katana and Walker's Twin Machetes. Meanwhile, Davos demanded that Wing give him back what she had stolen from him, as they began furiously fighting, both proving themselves to be equally matched as they both continued to suffer from the effects of the transference ceremony. Getting Wing in a headlock, Davos then attempted to steal the power back, only for Wing to counter the hold and throw Davos away from her as they continued their fight.

Attempting to gain the upper hand, Wing armed herself with a steel pole which she hit Davos with, as he managed to avoid most of the blows before disarming Wing and throwing her down onto her back. However, Wing continued fighting as neither could gain an advantage as they both landed strong blows on one another, with Wing's speed being put against the rage and power of Davos, with Wing managing to use Davos' rage against him as he charged at her only to then be thrown over Wing's shoulder. Taking advantage of this moment, Wing began beating down Davos and kicking him through a doorway.

Davos, however, soon recovered from his beatdown by Wing and got back onto his feet, pushing Wing back against the wall with several strong blows, before Davos summoned up the Iron Fist and furiously punched at Wing in an attempt to finally defeat her. However, Wing was barely able to avoid the deadly blow which had then completely obliterated the wall behind her, as Wing then pushed Davos outside to continue their fight. Wing then told Davos that the Iron Fist did not belong to him, and never did as he was unworthy, as Davos had then questioned if it did not belong to him, then who should get it.

Davos-IAmTheLastSonOfKunLun

Davos declares he should have the Iron Fist

Davos had noted that Wing was unworthy of the Iron Fist as she was a member of the Hand, while Rand was merely the pretender who fell from the sky and previously betrayed all the responsibility of the Iron Fist, while Davos was the last son of K'un-Lun, which Wing told did not matter before they engaged in their duel once again. Determined to ensure that he was the only one able to wield the power of the Iron Fist, Davos used all of his own remaining strength and skill to try and subdue Wing, landing a hard kick which knocked her onto her back, although Davos himself was still struggling to stand up himself.

DavosWing-SuperPunches

With little options remaining, Davos channeled his Chi and had then summoned up the Iron Fist, seeking to land a final blow to end Wing. However, as Davos launched himself through the air at her, Wing had summoned her own Iron Fist which she had used to counter Davos' punch. The combination of two Iron Fists making contact resulted in a shockwave which blew Davos and Wing backward, as Davos was slammed painfully into a stone wall behind him. Struggling to get on his feet, Davos went over to the now wounded Wing and pinned her down, attempting to complete the transference ceremony.

However, before Davos could complete the ceremony, Wing was able to push him off her while Danny Rand rejoined the fight, having just helped Mary Walker to return to her calmly personality. Charging to Wing's aid, Rand managed to land a flying kick against Davos before the two former friends engaged in a brutal final battle, with Rand able to gain a clear advantage over Davos due to him still suffering from the burning dragon inside his body. Pushing him into an open space, Rand landed another kick against Davos before blocking all his next strikes and countering with a heavy hit directly to the head.

Davos finally has the Iron Fist taken away

Although Davos fought back as best he could, managing to land his punch on Rand, the fight turned against him once again once Wing rejoined the fight, landing a kick which knocked Davos off his feet. With Davos now injured and lying on his back, Rand and Wing had managed to pin him down as they again performed the transference ceremony, with Davos this time being unable to get them off him as Wing was finally able to successfully complete the ceremony, ripping the power of the Iron Fist out of Davos' body, ending all the burning pain within them but leaving Davos without his own power.

While Wing walked away from him, Davos screamed out in pain and frustration, as he continued to beg Wing to end his life, pushing Rand away from him as Davos got to his feet and screamed at Wing. In response to Davos' fury, Wing had then told Rand to move aside as she smashed her Iron Fist onto the ground, creating a shockwave which knocked Davos off his feet and subdued him, finally ending their fight.[8]

Taken into Custody[]

With their fight ended, Davos was handed over to the New York City Police Department to be put in custody, as he was handcuffed to an ambulance while they examined his injuries before taking him into custody. With Misty Knight ready to take Davos to jail, she offered Danny Rand a final chance to say goodbye to his friend and brother. Once they were alone, Rand told Davos that he did not want this situation to end this way, noting how he did everything to avoid it, as Davos questioned why Rand approached him with compassion.

DavosDRand-FinalChat

While Rand insisted that his compassion was a choice that he made, Davos noted that Rand's choices in K'un-Lun had brought them to this moment, although Rand insisted that Davos had brought this on himself, while Davos claimed that he had grasped a glory with his actions that Rand could not even begin to comprehend, as Rand had insisted he did understand, but also knew that the cost was too high for such glory. Rand noted how it had taken a lot of effort for him to convince those around him not to kill Davos and give him one more chance, expressing his hope that Davos could honor that.

DavosSayingGoodbyeToDRand

Davos insists that their fight is still not over

Davos questioned if Rand really believed he had won their fight, as he noted how he had inspired people with his actions, claiming there was nothing Rand could do to stop his message spreading into the world, while Rand claimed he was not giving up hope. Hearing this, Davos recalled how Lei Kung had referred to Rand as the Chosen of Heaven, Touched by Fire, which disgusted Davos as he noted how Rand had fought for the Iron Fist only to fill a void in himself, noting how while he chose his path and walked it, Rand still did not know who he really was, after which Rand said his final goodbye.[8]

Personality[]

"Where I'm from, Mr. Yang, those who go back on their word are tossed to the bottom of a ravine. As a child, I would walk among their corpses and break their bones for extra measure."
―Davos to Hai-Qing Yang[src]

Davos carried himself with a stoic and dutiful attitude. Grown and raised in K'un-Lun, Davos was loyal to the ways of his home. Despite his stoicism, Davos was willing to engage in mischievous activities with his friend, Danny Rand. He remembered those times with fondness.

Once Rand got chosen to become the Iron Fist, Davos became jealous of his friend. Much of this jealousy stemmed from his own insecurities and a constant desire to prove himself to the Order of the Crane Mother and his own mother in particular. Nevertheless, he accepted that his friend was chosen and dutifully served with him to guard the gate to K'un-Lun. When Rand left and abandoned his duty, Davos felt betrayed by his friend's decision. When he found and reunited with Rand in New York City, Davos scorned and berated Rand for his decision. Nevertheless, he still regarded Rand as his friend and was willing to assist him in his quest to take down the Hand.

Due to his loyalty to K'un-Lun's teachings, which was fuelled by his inner desire to become the Iron Fist, Davos was ruthless and bloodthirsty when he was fighting the Hand. During his fight against the Hand, he fought with lethal intent and when Colleen Wing hesitated to kill Bakuto, he went ahead and finished him off much to Rand's protest. Also due to his beliefs, he was unwilling to believe the sincerity of Wing's defection from the Hand which caused more tension in his friendship with Rand.

After acquiring the Iron Fist for himself, Davos developed an extremely black-and-white view of the world similar to Frank Castle, determined to destroy all crime and corruption in New York City by any means necessary. Unlike Castle, however, Davos was not above killing innocent civilians, such as Henry Yip, on the mere suspicion of being tied to a criminal organization. Also, unlike Castle, he was perfectly willing to recruit and indoctrinate known criminals such as Chen Wu and Ryhno's Gang to further his goals, becoming no different from the very people he sought to destroy.

Ultimately, his loyalty and duty to K'un-Lun, as well as being taught to hate the Hand, were driving points for Davos' and Rand's brotherhood to break apart. But he did believe that it was also his father, Lei Kung's fault for choosing Rand to fight Shou-Lao. Filled with resentment, jealousy, envy, and hatred over Rand's failures as Iron Fist and his blatant abandonment to K'un-Lun, Davos became devoted on a quest to kill his former best friend.

Under the tutelage of the Order of the Crane Mother, Davos gain deep knowledge and understanding of chi. After absorbing the power of the Iron Fist, Davos can harness his own chi to augment his physical and mental capabilities.
    • Chi Absorption: With the help of the Crane Sisters, Davos was able to perform an ancient ritual and learn the ability to absorb another’s Chi, it’s partially how he was able to steal the Iron Fist from Danny.
    • Superhuman Strength: By channeling Shou-Lao's stolen chi and focusing it into his hand, Davos can make his fist super-humanly powerful and resistant to injury and pain. With his fist in this state, Davos can exert superhuman strength and force with which he can punch through concrete walls, lead-lined doors, and punch his opponents with tremendous force that causes fatal injury or death. He was able to kill multiple muggers that were about to beat up a civilian with his chi, stop multiple guards in the club with using his chi sparingly and punch through a brick wall entirely. He was even able to kill Ho by sending him flying with a single punch to the chest and punch through Henry Yip's stomach, as well as decapitating Liu with one strike. Davos was even able to focus his chi into both hands, usually by aggression in brief moments. Also, Davos' emotional, mental and physical state is essential to him using his powers, with drugs being able to suppress his chi and remove his ability to use the fist.
    • Enhanced Stamina: By channeling his Chi, Davos’ stamina and resilience become greatly enhanced above normal human levels. Davos was able to hunt down multiple Triad gang headquarters and intensely fight dozens of men throughout the night, without feeling strain or becoming tired.
    • Chi Blast: Davos was able to completely destroy Rand and Colleen Wing’s Home by slamming his fist into the ground, sending waves of force that broke the windows, uprooted all the furniture and sent them flying upwards. Davos used these strikes without hesitation while facing his enemies, creating a trace of destruction where he fights.

Davos fighting against the Iron Fist

Davos had been intensively trained by his father, Lei Kung in K'un-Lun ever since childhood as one of the potential candidates to become the next Iron Fist. Davos is an extremely skilled master of Kung Fu. His fighting style is identical to Rand and is composed of Tai chi, Wushu, and the Dragon and Snake-style Kung Fu including the styles of Wing Chun and Choy Li Fut but more aggressive [19] he could assist Danny Rand fighting the Hand together. He could even fight evenly with Rand himself. in comparison as he could efficiently disarm his enemies of weapons and violently used it against them. His skill in combat seems to have slightly improved further over time as at first Rand could beat him with some effort, but since reappearing in New York City, Rand had to fight at the absolute height of his ability the first two times almost ended in failure.
  • Expert Marksman: Davos is shown to be an expert marksman with his origami aluminum shurikens and throwing knives, also throwing a hatchet directly into Liu's chest, causing a fatal injury.
  • Master Acrobat: Davos has occasionally shown some acrobatic skills during his fights with the hand such as using a tucking side flip to kick down a Hand warrior.

  • Tibetan Singing Bowl: In order to complete his ceremony to steal Rand's power away from him, Davos required an ancient bowl with mystic powers. Learning that Mika Prada now owned the bowl, Davos and Joy Meachum attempted to buy it for her, only to resort to blackmail when Prada had refused to sell. Once they had the bowl, Davos had the Crane Sisters combine Rand's blood and the Mark of Shou-Lao taken from the corpse of a previous Iron Fist, to make a mark for Davos in order to complete their ceremony. Knowing the importance of the bowl, Davos attempted to keep it hidden, only for Meachum to then recruit BB to take it and give it to Rand and Colleen Wing, who used the bowl's power to steal the power of the Iron Fist from Davos and give it to Wing.
  • Chen Wu's List: As Davos began his mission to end the Triad War by killing anyone associated with it, he recruited Chen Wu to write him a list of the names of members of the Golden Tigers and Yangsi Gonshi, so Davos could slaughter them, warning that he would put Wu's name on the list if he betrayed him.
