The Data Core was a database managed by S.H.I.E.L.D. that contained hundreds of petabytes of information on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s data on and designs for technology and weapons.

History

Attack on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Science and Technology Pavilion

Arnim Zola attacked the S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy of Science and Technology pavilion at Stark Expo in Hong Kong with his Swarmbots in an attempt to access the Data Core to steal classified S.H.I.E.L.D. data. Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne fought against the Swarmbots to prevent them from accessing the Data Core, eventually being assisted by a group of recruits in Daggers sent by Leslie Lam. The recruits were successfully able to help Lang and van Dyne fend off the Swarmbots and defeat Zola, helping keep the Data Core safe and intact.
