Darryl attended Maria's party when the Watchdogs were hunting Inhumans. While not aware that Elena Rodriguez was the Inhuman that the Watchdogs were looking for, he falsely claimed that The Amazing Mertz was the one they had been looking for.
Biography
Blackout in Miami
Ambushed by the Watchdogs
Darryl visited a rooftop party in Miami when suddenly an EMP device caused the entre city to turn black. At first Darryl was amused by the blackout, but quickly after a helicopter which had been effected, fell from the sky and crashed into a nearby building, exploding in a massive fireball and falling to the ground.
Darryl told the other partygoers that the blackout was caused by a Inhumans attack and suggested to get downstairs. Elena Rodriguez objected, but they eventually all moved towards the lobby.
As they made their way into the lobby, they were suddenly surrounded by members of the Watchdogs led by Briggs, who all charged in armed with guns. Despite trying to hand over his wallet, Briggs made it clear that they were not there for money, but to find the Inhuman who was hiding among them.
While they were all being held under gunpoint Darryl walked towards Briggs, telling him Mertz is the Inhuman and that he has been doing all kind of tricks and calling it a gift. Darryl watched on while some of the watchdogs grabbed Mertz. When Mertz told the watchdogs that he does not have any powers Darryl accused him of lying. Mertz explained to Darryl that it is all a slide of hands, calling him a moron. Briggs gave one of his men the honor of shooting Mertz, but before he was able to do so Elena took his gun. Darryl quickly reacted by saying that it was Mertz who made the gun dissapear. The same happened with Briggs his own gun.
When Elena was eventually revealed to be the Inhuman the watchdogs surrounded her and planned to execute her. Just in time Phil Coulson, Alphonso Mackenzie and Leo Fitz entered the hotel. While a brawl began Darryl and the other partygoers fled the scene.[1]
