The Dark Gate was a mystical gate located in Ta Lo. It served as the prison for the Dweller-in-Darkness and the Soul Eaters.

Once, a long time ago, the people of Ta Lo were at war with the Soul Eaters and their leader, the Dweller-in-Darkness. The war lasted until the people of Ta Lo, along with the Great Protector, built the Dark Gate out of Dragon Scale to trap the Dweller-in-Darkness behind it and imprison him there.[1]
The Ten Rings[]
On his quest to find his wife Ying Li, Xu Wenwu heard a voice calling to him. Believing it to be his wife, it told him to break down the Dark Gate in Ta Lo to set her free. He journeyed there, only to find resistance from the people of the Ancient Village. Eventually, he made his way to the Dark Gate, facing his son and breaking down the Dark Gate with the Ten Rings.[1]
