- ―Daredevil to Spider-Man[src]
Matthew Michael "Matt" Murdock is a vigilante known as Daredevil.
Biography[]
Vigilante of Hell's Kitchen[]
- "It used to be that the likes of Captain America kept to where they belonged. Wars, espionage, outer space. But things are changing. Look at what's become of Hell's Kitchen."
- ―Silvermane[src]
Using a customized suit and a pair of Billy Clubs, Matt Murdock assumed the moniker of Daredevil to fight crime in Hell's Kitchen.[4] Daredevil came into contact with Jeanne Foucault, who operated under the name of Finesse, and the two became partners.[5]
Investigating Oscorp[]
Duel with Spider-Man[]

Daredevil is stopped by Spider-Man
- "I'm trying to help you understand what's really going on. Osborn is hiding something."
"Everyone's hiding something, including you. Or did you forget you're wearing a mask?" - ―Daredevil and Spider-Man[src]
When Jeanne Foucault received an internship offer from Oscorp, Daredevil asked her to take it and spy on Norman Osborn, whom he suspected of some shady business.[5] With Foucault's help, Daredevil managed to infiltrate Oscorp Tower and made it to Osborn's office, incapacitating security guards on his way. He attempted to access Osborn's computer, but could not get past the protection and triggered the alert, so he had to make his exit. As Daredevil reached the rooftop, he was stopped by Spider-Man who had no intention of letting the intruder get away and shot a web at his foot, gluing him to the floor.

Daredevil fights Spider-Man
Daredevil took a note of his Synthetic Webbing, so Spider-Man commented on his spider motif that Daredevil could not guess on his own, but said that he would take a mental not of it. Using his Billy Club, Daredevil freed himself and managed to dodge an oncoming web blast with his enhanced senses, to Spider-Man's surprise. The two then engaged in a close quarter combat but Daredevil's training and superior fighting skills gave him an edge over Spider-Man. The fight eventually took then on top of Oscorp Helicopter, and Daredevil continued to successfully dodge Spider-Man's blows and web blasts, although Spider-Man was able to use his mobility to his advantage.

Daredevil tries to warn Spider-Man about Norman Osborn
As Spider-Man attempted to lend a swing kick on Daredevil, he was able to intercept him and strike him back, following it with a Billy Club throw that Spider-Man barely dodged. Spider-Man then voiced his excitement over their battle on top of the tower, and Daredevil was able to share that excitement, saying that it was pretty cool. The two continued to fight and Spider-Man took a note of Daredevil's combat skills, while keeping an upper hand over his adversary. Daredevil remarked on Spider-Man's young age and his desire to do the right thing, but claimed that what he was doing was not right, before taking him down. Spider-Man did not give up and tried to neutralize Daredevil with his webbing, sarcastically remarking on him giving lectures on what is right or wrong, while dressed like a devil.

Daredevil knocks Spider-Man out
Daredevil closed the distance between them, while trying to convince Spider-Man that Osborn was hiding something and should not be trusted. Spider-Man ignored his warning, saying that everyone has a secret to keep, especially Daredevil who was wearing a mask to conceal his real identity. Sensing that Spider-Man was about to lunge at him again, Daredevil threw his Billy Club that he initially dodged but it ricocheted and hit Spider-Man right into his temple. Daredevil watched Spider-Man blacking out and took his chance to retreat, leaving him unconscious on the rooftop.[3]
New Assignment[]

Daredevil talks to Finesse
- "Looks like Osborn's kid is following in daddy's footsteps. Claims to have good intentions though."
"Yeah, everyone usually does. You mind keeping an eye on him, Finesse?"
"Sure. I already infiltrated one company to spy on an Osborn for you. Why not do it again?" - ―Finesse and Daredevil[src]
Later, when Finesse quit her internship at Oscorp following the Project Monolith fiasco, Daredevil approached her in the alleyway, asking what held her. Finesse replied that she received an invitation to join W.E.B. that was founded by Harry Osborn, but unlike his father, he claimed to have good intentions. Daredevil remarked that everyone starts by claiming to have good intentions and asked Finesse if she could keep an eye on him the same way she did with Oscorp, and despite her snark, she did not object. Daredevil took her sarcasm in stride and jumped to the rooftops for a patrol, with Finesse following close.[5]
