Darcy Lewis is an intern at Stark Industries who helped Happy Hogan with the Christmas party at Avengers Tower.

Darcy Lewis had applied for internships at numerous places but never maanged to secure a proper job. One of such internships was at Culver University's IT department, which she learned some programming skills.[1]

By 2014, Lewis landed an internship at Stark Industries and worked under Happy Hogan's supervision. She was helping Hogan with preparation for a Christmas gala at Avengers Tower and used the emergency communication line to complain about the variety of food that caterers brought for the party. Hogan chided Lewis for using an emergency line when J.A.R.V.I.S. is offline and asked if she wanted to get college credit for her internship, to which Lewis insisted that a party at Avengers Tower was not her first rodeo.
Hogan then asked about his codename "Puffin-Two" that she gave him, to which Lewis replied that Bernard already had "Puffin-One" but suggested him some others. He then gave Lewis a new assignement to do a shop run for maraschino cherries that Tony Stark needed for his hot toddies, but they did not have enough. Lewis wondered if people even put cherries on hot toddies and realized that Hogan was just trying to get rid of her, which he did not deny. She did not object to his assignment and left the tower, putting on Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You" on loop, while passing by some Justin Hammer and his men.[1]

Lewis receives bad news from Happy Hogan
- "J.A.R.V.I.S. has a mainframe in the sub-basement. If we bring J.A.R.V.I.S. back online, we can take control of the building and everything inside it."

As Lewis was on her way out of the store with maraschino cherries, she was contacted by Happy Hogan who informed her that Avengers Tower was overtaken by terrorists. She started to remember all Christmas movies where similar events happened, like Con Air or Under Siege but Hogan cut her off and said that Justin Hammer had control over every weapon or Iron Man armor at the tower. She then asked why would Hogan call her in that situation, instead of the Avengers or Nick Fury, which gave Hogan an idea.
Hogan told Lewis about J.A.R.V.I.S. mainframe in the tower's sub-basement and tasked Lewis with reactivating him and having him reclaim the tower's security systems, which Lewis excitedly compared to Die Hard. Lewis then heard screams and gunshots over the comms and realized that the situation as the tower is even more serious than she thought. As she made her way to the tower's sub-basement, she reached out to Hogan and asked what was going, commenting on him unusually deep voice, but Hogan assured her that he only needed a breather. Lewis then went on to access the mainframe, remarking that the tower's entire system depends on a single console and how easy it would be to her to reclaim it.
Lewis gets captured by Justin Hammer's men
However, to her surprise, it was only an access point to a room full of various AI servers, where Hogan told her to look for a backup J.A.R.V.I.S. AI to wire up to the tower's systems. As Lewis looked through the AI units, she found F.R.I.D.A.Y., W.A.D.S.W.O.R.T.H., and E.D.I.T.H. 1.0, but decided to settle on W.E.R.N.E.R. out of all of them. But before Lewis could do anything with him, she got startled by a Iron Legion drone breaking through the celling and confronting her, so Lewis had no choice but to surrender. Rusty Vyacheslav and Sergei captured Lewis and brought her to Hammer, and she praised his Christmas wordplay while he was taunting Hogan.
Lewis and Maria Hill are saved by Freak
Much to Lewis' dismay, Hammer then went on threaten Hogan with killing her unless he comes to the penthouse and faces with him, having her to sit handcuffed next to Maria Hill who was also captured. As Hammer prepared to take Hogan down when the elevator arrived, he realized that it was only a diversion, before the Freak broke through the window and attacked the Iron Legion, while Lewis quickly recognized him as Hogan. While Hammer retreated to the armory, Freak liberated both Lewis and Hill and had them to work on rebooting the tower's AI while he would go after Hammer on his own. As they found a console and started working, Lewis saw something flying in the sky and assumed that it was Santa Claus, but it was actually Veronica, as Hammer summoned the Hulkbuster to fight Freak.
As both Freak and Hogan crashed into the room they were in and continued their fight, Lewis dejectedly remarked that it was her worst internship ever. Lewis and Hill continued trying to wire W.E.R.N.E.R. in when Hammer briefly overpowered Freak and confronted them, but Freak returned and saved them. Lewis got excited and called Freak her best boss which meant a lot to him, coming from Lewis who had a lot of bosses in the past, but then Hammer recovered and the fight continued. As the console froze, Lewis managed to use a trick she learned while working at Culver University and successfully rebooted the system, uploading W.E.R.N.E.R. in the mainframe.
Hill instructed W.E.R.N.E.R. to disengage the Hulkbuster protocol and call the Avengers, but the AI was programmed to be way too prideful and self-absorbed to be controlled, which reminded Lewis of her father. However, the Avengers arrived soon after and attacked Freak as they were under the impression that he was their enemy, so Lewis jumped in between them and told the Avengers to stay down, before they realized that Freak was actually Hogan. Lewis then pointed at Hammer standing at the side as their real enemy, so Iron Man quickly deactivated the armor and left Hammer completely powerless.
Lewis and others then witnessed Freak saving Hammer from falling off the tower, standing beside Hill while the Avengers were congratulating him. Now that the whole ordeal was over, Lewis joined Freak, Hill and the Avengers to celebrate Christmas together, only moments before Thor arrived at the tower.[1]
