Dale Sheldon Yorkes[2] was the father of Gert Yorkes, who died while fighting Morgan le Fay.
Biography[]
Losing a Daughter[]
The Magic of Science[]
Figuring out that Karolina Dean's Gibborim DNA could help counter the effects of Corvus, Yorkes used Leslie Dean's medical kit to create a serum. She then took the kit upstairs to treat an injured Geoffrey Wilder. Yorkes then used Chase Stein's protein shake bowl to create a centrifuge while his two daughters watched.
Molly Hernandez remarked at how cool it was, leading Dale to say that even though he had done stupid things in the past, his daughters forgot how smart he was. To his surprise, Hernandez and Gert Yorkes said they thought what he was doing was cool. Dale soon finished the serum and injected it into Hernandez while explaining the side effects like sausage fingers. This worried Hernandez, but it was too late.
Dale then went to inject Gert, who was very worried and asked if it would disrupt her connection with Old Lace. Dale admitted that he had no idea as they were altering her DNA. Gert then called Old Lace over and talked to her privately before allowing herself to be injected. When it was all done, Dale walked outside to see Morgan le Fay was facing the Runaways and it looked like she was already victorious.[3]
Gert Yorkes' Death[]
Dale ran to where Geoffrey Wilder, Stacey Yorkes and Leslie Dean were and told them what he saw. Suddenly, Bronwyn arrived, happy to see everyone there as she could kill many loved ones. However, she could not do so as Alex Wilder arrived and stabbed her in the neck, killing her and saving everyone.
Dale and the others eventually exited the room when le Fay's storm settled. However, they did not walk out to joy, but rather sadness as they heard Chase Stein crying. Reality got worse as Dale and Stacey looked down to see their own daughter, Gert, bleeding on the floor. They rushed down the stairs in tears, but were unable to do anything about it as Gert Yorkes was already gone, having defeated le Fay and becoming a hero.[3]
Grief[]
Three years later, Molly Hernandez still had not moved back in with her parents and instead lived in the Hostel. On the anniversary of Gert Yorkes' death, Dale and Stacey Yorkes went to Honduras for an expedition.[1]
