Cut Rate Drugs was a pharmacy in New York City.
History[]
Pharmacy[]
Cut Rate Drugs was a pharmacy that closed down, with a "Store for Rent" sign being placed on its window. By 1931, the store had still not been rented.[1]
Ambush on the NYPD Officers[]
In 1931, William Dole and two other NYPD officers were preparing to receive an illegal shipment of alcohol from Jimmy Bottles. However, Luke, Abel, and Cain entered the pharmacy instead. The Chronicom Hunters announced who they were and killed two of the officers. Luke then used his Eraser to assume Dole's identity. While Abel and Cain took off their skin to prepare to do the same, Bottles walked in, prompting the Hunters to kill him. The Hunters then assumed the officer's identities and prepared to attack Freddy Malick.
The NYPD later found the officers' faceless bodies and began an investigation.[1]
Investigated by S.H.I.E.L.D.[]
Alphonso Mackenzie, Daisy Johnson, Deke Shaw, and Phil Coulson later arrived at the pharmacy under the pretense of being Canadian police officers. As they entered the pharmacy, Shaw used a facial reconstruction device to create a digital reconstruction of the officers' faces. Coulson then discovered one of the bottles that Jimmy Bottles had dropped, noting the swordfish logo. He realized that it must be connected to a speakeasy that would later become an SSR facility, so he and Mackenzie left to investigate it while Shaw and Johnson stayed behind.[1]
Growing impatient, Daisy Johnson left the pharmacy to ensure that nobody was watching them. As she left, Luke recognized her as Quake, and ordered Cain and Abel to take care of her and anybody else inside. While Cain led Johnson to the back of the building under the guise of investigating a suspicious vehicle, Abel entered the building and confronted Deke Shaw. The Chronicom Hunters attacked, planning on killing the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. However, Shaw used his facial reconstruction device as a weapon against Abel, incapacitating him long enough for Shaw to escape. He barricaded the back door of the pharmacy, and distracted Cain long enough for Johnson to render him unconscious.[1]
