- "From what I hear, he was a dick."
- ―Chase Stein[src]
Curtis Stein was the father of Victor Stein and the grandfather of Chase Stein.
Biography[]
- "He was not a sophisticated man, but he was a hard worker. It's funny, people liked him. Of course, he was sober at work."
- ―Victor Stein to Jonah[src]
Curtis was the owner of a diner called the Odyssey Diner. He also had one son, Victor. Curtis dedicated his life to his job, causing his customers to usually appreciate him. In private, however, Curtis suffered from drinking problems,[1] and frequently physically abused his son, beating him up with a bat.[2] Eventually, in 1976, Curtis abandoned his family.[1]
Curtis' behavior had a devastating impact on his son who, once he became a married man and a father, behaved just as terribly towards his own son and wife than Curtis had towards Victor. Although Victor had some fond memories of the diner, Curtis was actually a part of Victor's worst nightmares, and as a result, Curtis was recreated in the Dark Dimension when Victor was trapped in it.[2]
