During the Battle, a new sorcerer, Doctor Strange had just acquired the Cloak of Levitation. As Kaecilius threw Strange through the Sanctorum, Strange noticed an axe on the wall near him. Desperate for a weapon, he ran over to grab it, only for the Cloak to notice the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak on the other side of the room. The cloak managed to convince Strange to use this relic instead. Unsure of how to use it, Strange simply threw the device at his enemy, which trapped and restrained him.
Strange removed the mouthpiece of the device so he could understand what Kaecilius was saying. Soon after, Kaecilius' followers, the Zealots attacked Strange, forcing him to retreat. The Zealots then destroyed the device, freeing Kaecilius.
- In the comics, the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak is a spell commonly used by Doctor Strange to bind his targets by summoning durable bands that represent Cyttorak's indomitable will. Strange uses such a spell during the Battle of Titan against Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.
- In the third season of Marvel's Runaways, Tina Minoru mentions the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak when she casts the spell to escape from the Dark Dimension.
