Multiversal War Conflict

Various Kangs fight each other

As more and more Variants of Kang the Conqueror began to come in contact with each other after discovering the existence of the Multiverse, numerous Variants began working with one another to improve each other's universe using the resources they had. Many alliances were made, ultimately resulting in the formation of the Council of Kangs. However, selected Variants, specifically Kang the Conqueror, did not comply into the alliance and saw other universes as lands to be conquered, thus launching the Multiversal War. Eventually, a Variant by the name of He Who Remains ended the war and compiled a collection of realities into the Sacred Timeline, isolating them from the Multiverse and created the Time Variance Authority to prevent the Council of Kangs from accessing it.[1] The Council of Kangs continued to exist in their own timelines, waiting for a chance to gain entry to the Sacred Timeline.[2]

Exiling the Conqueror[]

The death of He Who Remains resulted in the Sacred Timeline being reconnected to the greater Multiverse.[1][3] As the Council of Kangs now had access to the Sacred Timeline,[4] they chose to banish Kang the Conqueror, whom they deemed too dangerous.[5] Ambushing him[6] while in his Time Sphere, the Council of Kangs exiled Kang the Conqueror to the Quantum Realm.[5]

The Gathering[]

"All of us."
Centurion and Immortus[src]

Following the death of Kang the Conqueror, Centurion met with Immortus and Rama-Tut and told the two about Kang's demise at the hands of Ant-Man and Wasp. Realizing that more people were beginning to learn more about the Multiverse and that could potentially lead to the destruction of their dynasty, Immortus called upon the Council of Kangs to discuss the impending threat. As the trio observed the branching timelines, more and more Variants, including Mister Gryphon, entered the stadium.[7]

Trivia[]

  • The Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the Council of Kangs is based on two different groups from the comics: the Council of Kangs and the Council of Cross-Time Kangs. The first group consists of the "Prime" Kang and two other Kangs he recruited to destroy all inferior Kangs across the Multiverse. They were once tricked by Immortus into killing other divergent Kangs and only the Prime Kang survived. The Council of Cross-Time Kangs consists of aliens and other species who took up the guise of Kang the Conqueror after taking down the robotic copies that the Prime Kang created to replace the other Kangs he had killed. The group was eventually wiped out by Alioth by the actual Kang's orders.
