Coots became acquainted with mercenary Lance Hunter through their mutual friend, Rusty Peltzer. When Hunter needed to break into Blue Raven Ridge so that he and fellow ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Leo Fitz could steal a Cryo-Freeze Chamber, Hunter contacted Coots so that he could make fake I.D.s for the duo, as well as hack into Blue Raven Ridge's system and put their fake I.D.s in the system. Though Coots was pressed for time due to the urgency of the mission, his fake I.D.s succeeded in fooling the Blue Raven Ridge staff and the mission went smoothly.[1]
