Cook is a police officer for the Los Angeles Police Department.

As an LAPD officer, Cook was sent to the Ruthie's Skillet diner after the authorities were alerted by Skye of the presence of Grant Ward, a Hydra operative. Cook and several officers thus arrived at the diner, monitoring Skye and Ward before beginning to evacuate the restaurant. Cook and his colleagues then proceeded to arrest Skye and Ward, but Ward violently resisted arrest and fought against the LAPD officers. Although they were briefly able to restrain him as Skye ran away, Cook and his colleagues were later incapacitated by Ward, enabling him to leave as well.[1]
