- "The Clandestines are not like the Djinn you've heard about in stories or in religious texts. I mean, if Thor landed in the Himalayan mountains, he too would have been called a Djinn."
- ―Waleed to Kamala Khan[src]
The Clandestines were a group of beings from the Noor Dimension that were exiled to Earth, where they were mistakenly referred to as Djinn. In 2025, they made their presence known to Kamala Khan in order to use her bangle to open a portal back home. However, the group became defunct when all of the exiles were killed.
History[]
Mythologized as Djinn[]
- "Legend tells of a group of hidden Djinn, exiled from their home world and damned to live out their days trapped in our own. They move in shadows, searching for the key that will help them get home."
- ―Yusuf Khan to Bruno Carrelli[src]
In human mythology, the Djinn are supernatural beings of pre-Islamic folklore.[1] After the Clandestines were exiled to Earth from the Noor Dimension and arrived in Asia, they were believed by the local populace to be Djinn due to their supernatural existence.[2] A legend about their exile was eventually recorded as a Djinn tale.[1]
