Claire Weiss is a former robber who was recruited to S.H.I.E.L.D. after she and her boyfriend, Benjamin Pollack, found a Chitauri weapon after the Battle of New York.

Using the Weapon[]

Claire Weiss's boyfriend, Benjamin Pollack, found a Chitauri Gun after the Battle of New York that supposedly fell into his lap. Despite the weapons seemingly having all been broken after the battle, Pollack repaired the weapon and learned how to use it. Due to their poor financial situation, he and Weiss agreed to take their getting of the weapon as a sign of good fortune and use it to assist in robbing banks to raise money.[1]
Beginning the Robberies[]

As the couple sat in the car outside the Farmers & Merchants Bank, Benjamin Pollack expressed his concern over their decision, noting that it might be a mistake; however, Weiss was able to convince him that their getting the gun was a sign and they need to use it, telling him that she loved him. With Pollack on board, the pair collected money from multiple banks in America; however, their constant activity allowed S.H.I.E.L.D. to track them down.[1]

Weiss and Benjamin Pollack are questioned by Jasper Sitwell
After stopping at a motel, Weiss and Benjamin Pollack relaxed, and rejoiced in their criminal success. However, they were quickly caught by S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jasper Sitwell, who restrained them. Sitwell told them that S.H.I.E.L.D. ordered him to put the thieves down, but, after Weiss spurted that Pollack repaired the Chitauri Gun, Sitwell became intrigued. The agent offered a compromise, allowing the pair to return with him to S.H.I.E.L.D., and work as agents.[1]
Joining S.H.I.E.L.D.[]
Weiss and Benjamin Pollack are recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D.

Seeing no other option, Weiss and Benjamin Pollack agreed, and Weiss became an assistant for Felix Blake, and Pollack was recruited as a S.H.I.E.L.D. engineer. Sitwell brought the pair to meet Blake who was extremely unimpressed by Sitwell's decision, especially considering Weiss's incompetence in such work, as Weiss revealed she did not know how to make him a cup of coffee.
Afterwards, Weiss played around with Blake's office chair when no one else was around, instead of getting to work.[1]
Personality[]
Weiss was the most confident in her and Benjamin Pollack's operation, giving her lover a pep talk before their robbery. However, she was not the smartest as she shot her Chitauri Gun through a wall directly at Pollack while trying to hurt Jasper Sitwell.
