Thor using the Chrysler Building

In 2012, the Avengers went into battle against the Chitauri. During the battle, Thor was instructed by Captain America to bottleneck the wormhole that was letting the Chitauri through. To accomplish this, Thor flew to the top of the Chrysler Building and used its lightning rod to supercharge and kill two Leviathans by electrocuting them, as well as destroying multiple Chitauri Chariots as they were flying through the wormhole.[1]

Alternate Universes

Time Heist

Iron Man watches Stark Tower from Chrysler

Having used the Quantum Realm to create an alternate 2012 timeline, the Avengers initiated a Time Heist to steal the three Infinity Stones that were in New York City during the Battle of New York. Intending to steal the Scepter and Tesseract, Iron Man flew onto the side of the Chrysler Building, where he had watched the 2012 Avengers defeating and then recapturing Loki. Once it was safe to do so, Iron Man flew to Stark Tower from the Chrysler to continue his mission.[2]
