- "Yo, pass me the rock."
"What, you finna play one-on-one with me?"
"No. That wouldn't be fair... to you. Come on, let's play H-O-R-S-E. Shot for shot. And if I win, you tell me everything I need to know about Wilfredo "Chico" Diaz."
"What's in it for me?"
"A get out of jail free card for any non-violent felony." - ―Misty Knight and Chauncey[src]
Chauncey is a young man living in Harlem and a regular visitor of the Saint Nick Playground Basketball court.
Biography
Chauncey was playing basketball with some friends at the Saint Nick playground basketball court when one of them noticed the police. The group tried to run away, but were stopped by Rafael Scarfe, who together with Misty Knight came to visit Chauncey to learn more about the whereabouts of Chico Diaz. At first Chauncey denied knowing Diaz, even though Knight stated that they know each other, since Diaz is a Saint Nick Playground Legend.
In order to get Chauncey talking Knight challenged him to a game of H-O-R-S-E with the condition that if she beat him, he would tell her everything he knew about Diaz. In return Chauncey wanted to know what he would get if he won, which was a "Get out of Jail free card" for any non-violent felony. Chauncey, after being called a lady, started the game with a score. When Knight also scored her first try Chauncey and his friends reacted surprised, upon which Knight showed Chauncey that she as well became a legend of the basketball court. Chauncey eventually lost the game and told Knight and Scare what he knew about Diaz.[1]
