The Chase of Sprite was the result of a prank Sprite pulled on Kingo in which he was led to believe he was kissing a fan. Kingo got angry and tried to get back at Sprite, but was ultimately unsuccessful.
Background[]
The Eternals split up
The Eternals were sent to Earth to protect humans from the Deviants. They traveled around the world and defeated what they believed to be all of the Deviants. However, once the final Deviants were destroyed, Thena became overcome with Mahd Wy'ry due to the memories of her time on Centuri-Six not having been properly erased. Thena attacked the other Eternals, and Gilgamesh managed to defeat her. This led to Gilgamesh deciding to take care of her rather than allowing her memories to be erased, and Ajak asking the Eternals to live on Earth and enjoy life.
Kingo realizes he was pranked
Sprite and Kingo spent a lot of time together in the world,[1] and Kingo eventually began to develop interest in acting. He eventually performed for the first time and admired his own work. That night, he looked in a mirror and complimented himself, causing Sprite to laugh. Sprite decided to play a prank where she summoned an illusion of a maharani and asked to see Kingo's superpowers. Kingo showed them off, and the "maharani" asked for a kiss. Right when Kingo kissed her, however, Sprite ended the illusion to reveal that he was really kissing a donkey.[2]
Chase[]
Angry, Kingo began to chase Sprite, who bragged about being too energetic for Kingo. Sprite conjured several illusions of herself while she sat atop a pillar. Kingo ran through all of the illusions, destroying each one. He hit into the pillar that Sprite was sitting on, resulting on him falling on his back.[2]
Aftermath[]
Kingo and Sprite laughed as the donkey winked at Kingo.[2] Kingo continued to live with Sprite, but when they were in Macedonia, became frustrated with how often they had to move due to people realizing that Sprite did not age. Kingo moved to India and decided to begin acting in Bollywood movies, missing Sprite's illusions and stories. Sprite was heartbroken and went to Ajak, who sent her to keep Sersi company following Sersi's breakup with Ikaris.[1]
