Victor Chase Stein was a former member of the Runaways who became reclusive after the death of Gert Yorkes during the Battle at the Hostel, and tried to develop a time machine to go back into the past and save her.
Biography[]
Gert's Death[]
- "The "me" upstairs needs to keep working on time travel. With a little help from Alex and the Abstract, eventually I'll figure it out."

Stein was present in the Hostel when Morgan le Fay attacked. During this battle, Gert Yorkes passed away, sending Stein into depression where he spent all of his time in his room trying to create time travel to save his lover.
Three years later, Stein was still locked in his room, barely coming out which angered Molly Hernandez because he did not even come out to celebrate Yorkes' life on the third anniversary of her death. He often got help from Alex Wilder, who was in possession of the Abstract.
Stein was eventually erased from existence when the Runaways, led by a future version of himself, were able to return into the past and save Yorkes' life.[5]

- Expert Engineer: Stein had tremendous engineering abilities he used in conjunction with Alex Wilder's help and the Abstract to work on a way to perform time travel, being able to put many aspects of quantum physics into practice.

- Hostel: Stein continued to live in the Hostel with Molly Hernandez and Old Lace. However, he barely got out of the room he had set up in the mansion to work on his time machine.
