Biography[]

Helping the Mayans[]

"Chaac gave our shaman a vision. A way to save his people. Chaac led him to a plant sprouting from a blue rock."
Namor to Shuri[src]

Chaac was the god of rain and abundance who was worshiped by the people of Yucatán. When some of the people fell ill with smallpox during the era of European colonization, Chaac gave their shaman a vision, allowing him to find the Talokanil Herb, which saved them, but turned them into Talokanil.[2]

Council of Godheads[]

Chaac was present at the gathering of the council in the audience of Zeus and was one of the many gods chanting his name in anticipation. Chaac witnessed the following proceedings, including Thor's failed call to arms and violent incapacitation of Zeus himself, followed swiftly by his escape.[1]

  • Chaac (also spelled Chac or, in Classic Mayan, Chaahk [t͡ʃaːhk]) is the name of the Mayan rain, thunder, lightning, and storm deity. With his lightning axe, Chaac strikes the clouds and produces thunder and rain. Chaac corresponds to Tlaloc among the Aztecs; however, in the comics' source material, Chaac and Tláloc exist as two separate entities.
