- Carlo's name is a reference to comic book artist Carlo Pagulayan. Pagulayan worked on the Planet Hulk, one of the comic book storyline that served as an inspiration for Thor: Ragnarok.
- According to a deleted scene, Carlo was killed by Grandmaster due to gambling away a two humped camel.[3]
