Carl Cowart worked as a guard at the Damage Control Supermax Prison and became acquainted with Emil Blonsky, who served his sentence there. At the time, Cowart's marriage was going through tough times and Blonsky convinced Cowart that he needs to let his wife go, which he was very grateful for. During Blonsky's parole hearing, Cowart was summoned by Jennifer Walters, Cowart burst into emotions, telling parole officers how Blonsky saved him from a bad marriage. Blonsky comforted Cowart, telling him to let it flow, while Cowart got distracted from the hearing and focused on Linda again.[1]
