Captain Carol Susan Jane Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, is a Kree-human hybrid and a friend of Nick Fury. Due to Loki's supreme authority over all of humanity, she was summoned by her old friend using the Transmitter Pager. She joined Fury's new roster of Avengers alongside Captain America and a Black Widow from an alternate universe.

Being a friend of Nick Fury, Carol Danvers provided him with the Transmitter Pager, in case he needed her help. In 2010, Fury summoned Danvers on Earth via the pager, in the wake of Loki's invasion, while the Avengers Initiative was terminated. Arriving in the Arctic, where Fury discovered the frozen body of Steve Rogers, Danvers asked him where the fight was.[1]

Captain Marvel fights the Einherjar army

Together with Captain America, Danvers joined the new Avengers, put together by Fury to fight Loki who led his army to conquer the planet. Eventually, the Einherjar attacked the Helicarrier, and while Captain America was providing a ground support to S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Danvers was striking down the Asgardian Skiffs in the air. Later, the Avengers were joined by Black Widow from the alternate universe, who saved Fury from Loki and joined their battle against the Asgardian army.[2]
