Nakia to Black Panther[src]

Cap-Haïtien is a city in Haiti where Nakia settled down.

History[]

Nakia's New Life[]

"We decided it was best he grow up here away from the pressures of the throne, your father, your ba ba prepared us for his death but he didn’t want us to go to the funeral, the time wasn’t right."
Nakia to T'Challa II[src]

Having fallen in love with King T'Challa, Nakia settled down away from Wakanda. They decided to do this for their new son as they believed he should not have to grow up with the throne in his sights. Nakia and Toussaint lived in Haiti while T'Challa secretly visited them from time to time. When T'Challa grew sick and passed away, he did not want Nakia to go to his funeral, so they stayed in Cap-Haïtien.

T'Challa II and schoolgirls meet Ramonda

Ramonda is met by Toussaint

In 2025, Ramonda arrived to seek Nakia's help in finding a kidnapped Shuri. Ramonda was met by Toussaint, who brought her to Nakia. Ramonda and Nakia embraced before Ramonda told Nakia what needed to happen. Later, Shuri arrived in Cap-Haïtien, having finished the conflict that she found herself in. She first met with Nakia before going down to the beach to perform a ritual signifying the end of the mourning period for T'Challa. She sat down and burned her cerimonial robes as she remembered her brother.[1]

ShuriMeetsToussaint

Shuri meets her nephew

Her thoughts were broken when she was interrupted by Nakia, who had a visitor. Nakia brought Toussaint, whom Shuri did not know. She introduced Toussaint as her son and Shuri's nephew. Shuri smiled and talked with Toussaint, who asked if she could keep a secret. When Shuri said she could, the boy told her that "Toussaint" was just his Haitian name. Shuri then asked in the mother tongue who he was. Toussaint replied that his name was T'Challa and he was the son of King T'Challa. Shuri's smile faded, but not to a frown, to a hopeful grin as she teared up in both sadness and happiness.[1]
