"Listen, it's our position that Stark has and continues to maintain proprietary ownership of the Mark II platform. Yeah, but you're not... Burt... He obviously did not. Yes, it does. No... Burt... Burt... Burt, listen to me. Don't tell me that we have the best patent lawyers in the country and then not let me pursue this."
Pepper Potts[src]

Burt is an employee of the Stark Industries legal department.

Biography[]

Call with Pepper Potts[]

Burt had a phone call with Pepper Potts regarding the United States Air Force's recent acquisition of the Mark II Iron Man armor. Potts insisted that James Rhodes had illegally seized the armor and that Stark Industries' position was that Tony Stark had proprietary ownership of the armor. Burt tried to advise Potts not to pursue legal action against the military, but Potts scolded Burt about his claim that the company had the best patent lawyers in the country. Burt warned of the President's intention to sign an order to let the military keep the armor, so Potts said to let him.

Potts decided to talk about the issue further at Justin Hammer's Stark Expo presentation the next day, leading Burt to ask if Stark would be there. Potts said that Stark would not and hung up on Burt.[1]
