"Since the days of Bor and Buri before him, we have protected the Nine Realms."
Thor[src]

Buri was the first King of Asgard, father of Bor, grandfather of Odin, great grandfather of Thor and Hela and adoptive great grandfather of Loki. Since his reign, Asgard has protected the Nine Realms.

Biography

During his reign, Buri ordered the construction of the first major structure on Asgard, including the Hall of Science and the Asgardian Dungeons.[1]

When Odin stripped Thor of his powers, he cast him out in the name of his father, Bor, and his father before, Buri.[2]

Before Thor and the Einherjar left Asgard to protect the Nine Realms and the worlds beyond, Thor gave a speech in front of his army. During this speech he mentioned that Asgard has protected the Nine Realms since the days of Bor and Buri before him.[3]

However, as the King of Asgard, these superhuman attributes were far surpassed any Asgardian.
