Biography[]
Working for Wilson Fisk[]
Hired by Wilson Fisk[]
- "When I brought you over... from your previous life, can you recall why I said I hired you?"
"I believe you called it my ability to think... asymmetrically." - ―Wilson Fisk and Buck Cashman[src]
Buck Cashman was found by Wilson Fisk, who admired his alternative thinking and decided to hire Cashman, taking him away from his previous life. Cashman became Fisk's right-hand man, assisting him with whatever he needed, including matters pertaining to the criminal world.[2]
Wilson Fisk's Campaign[]

Cashman discusses Wilson Fisk's success
- "If your polls are as good as you say, then neither Mr. Fisk nor his candidacy needs... refining."
- ―Buck Cashman to Sheila Rivera[src]
In 2026, Cashman assisted Wilson Fisk as he ran for mayor of New York City. When Sheila Rivera advised Fisk on refining his message points for the debate, Cashman stepped in and reminded her that Fisk did not need improvement due to his success in the polls. Daniel Blake interrupted to agree with Cashman about Fisk's popularity. Shortly after, Cashman escorted Fisk outside of a building and cleared a path through a crowd of people wanting to speak with Fisk. Cashman then spotted Matt Murdock and approached him, but Fisk told Cashman to leave Murdock be. Cashman listened as Murdock asked Fisk to speak privately with him, and watched as the pair walked away.[3]
Assisting Mayor Fisk[]

Cashman listens to Wilson Fisk's speech
- "Why didn't you stop him?"
"That's your job, not mine." - ―Sheila Rivera and Buck Cashman[src]
Cashman was present with Wilson Fisk when he won the election and became the new mayor of New York.[3] On New Year's Eve, Cashman watched on as Fisk gave a speech that was broadcast to the entire city. While stuck in traffic with Fisk, Sheila Rivera, and Daniel Blake, Cashman witnessed as Fisk exited their car and ordered construction workers to fill in a hole, which gained him more goodwill from the public.

Cashman meets Heather Glenn at a signing
When BB Urich arrived at New York City Hall to interview Fish, Cashman told her that she was only allowed five minutes. As Urich divulged on how Commissioner Phil Gallo was resigning and that many police officers would stand by him against Fisk, Cashman and Fisk locked eyes on the matter. Later on, Cashman attended a book signing at Inkwell Gathering Space, where he asked Heather Glenn to sign a copy of her book for him.

Cashman and Wilson Fisk discuss blackmail
To prevent Gallo's departure, Cashman was instructed to track down Gallo's secret son. Cashman found Gallo's son at D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches, so he took a photo and brought back some food for Fisk. When Gallo met with Fisk, he discovered their blackmail attempt and chose to stay as commissioner. Cashman congratulated Fisk, who claimed that anyone could be swayed by a piece of paper. When Fisk and his wife Vanessa required marriage counseling, Cashman went to Glenn and had her sign an NDA before he introduced her to the couple.[4]
Five Families Meeting[]

Cashman meets with the Five Families
- "Now, the shootout two days ago at the port is just the latest in a long line of very noisy mistakes. Truck hijackings, violence at the docks, a gang war... These are the headlines splashed across the front page of The Examiner. It all ends today."
- ―Buck Cashman to the Five Families[src]
Following an unease between the Five Families that was drawing public attention, Cashman was sent by Vanessa Fisk to achieve restitution between Luca and Viktor. Cashman meet with Luca, Viktor, and Carlo, and told them that their mistakes were to stop. Cashman told Luca what he owed Viktor, but Luca was outraged and told Cashman that he did not take orders from the mayor's errand boy. Before leaving, Cashman simply replied that he didn't work for the mayor, but for the man.[5]
Advising Fisk[]

Cashman advises Fisk on the Five Families
- "She's right about one thing. Now what's happening down here is a bigger problem than you realize. The other bosses will continue to create havoc until one of them is sentenced or they all die."
- ―Buck Cashman to Wilson Fisk[src]
Cashman accompanied Wilson Fisk, along with Sheila Rivera and Daniel Blake to Red Hook Pier, where they listened as Fisk explained his plans to transform the area into an industrial district. When Cashman was alone with Fisk, he informed the mayor that Rivera was right about the crime occurring at Red Hook Pier being a problem, and that it would only end with one of the heads of the Five Families is sentenced, or if they all died.[6]

Cashman informs Wilson Fisk about Muse
During an event with New York's elite, Cashman and Blake approached Fisk to inform him on the recent activity from Muse. In a car, they showed Fisk pictures of the crime scene straight from the forensics team. Cashman remarked that Muse was mocking the NYPD, which Fisk felt they could use to his benefit. Cashman accompanied Fisk as they met with a group of corrupt police officers to recruit them into the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, with their first directive to stop Muse.[7]
Discussing Daredevil[]

Cashman reveals that Daredevil is back
- "But... you've moved on from that now, huh? You're the Mayor now."
"Yes, I... I have more resources. Institutional resources. Law enforcement resources."
"Using those to settle old scores could be seen as an abuse of power." - ―Buck Cashman and Wilson Fisk[src]
Cashman and Daniel Blake were summoned to Wilson Fisk, who spoke about New York City being in fear of Muse. Blake informed Fisk that Angela Del Toro had been abducted by Muse, but survived, leading Cashman to reveal that Daredevil saved her.

Cashman advises Wilson Fisk on Daredevil
Later, Cashman and Fisk talked about Daredevil, wondering why he decided to return now. Cashman suggested Daredevil going after Muse being a good thing, although Fisk strongly disagreed, and reminded Cashman about how Daredevil ruined his operation and had him arrested. Cashman reminded Fisk that as mayor, it was best that he moved on from his past with Daredevil, and that using his influence to go after the vigilante could be seen as an abuse of power. Fisk called back to why he hired Cashman, and affirmed that he had to protect the city from anyone outside of the law.[2]
Assassinating Luca[]

Cashman assassinates Luca for Wilson Fisk
- "Thank you, Buck. Could you call Vanessa and ask her if she'd like me to bring her home some sole meunière?"
"Of course, sir." - ―Wilson Fisk and Buck Cashman[src]
When it was discovered that Luca planned to kill Wilson Fisk, Cashman was tasked with ambushing him during the attempt. Luca entered the restaurant Fisk was eating at, and as he pulled his gun out, Cashman swiftly shot him twice in the head. Fisk thanked Cashman and asked him to contact his wife to find out if she wanted any food. Cashman obliged while dealing with the body.[2]
Black & White Ball[]

Cashman hands Heather Glenn her invite
- "Ben Poindexter killed a prison guard and used his badge to escape. I've already informed security."
"Thank you, Buck. Try not to draw too much attention." - ―Buck Cashman and Wilson Fisk[src]
Cashman was tasked with personally delivering Heather Glenn an invitation to Wilson Fisk's Black & White Ball. Cashman arrived at Matt Murdock's apartment and handed them the invitation. Cashman also passed on Fisk's admiration for Glenn's survival against Muse. Cashman attended a meeting in Fisk's office to discuss the success of the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, with Cashman noting that vigilante crime was down thirty percent and the publicity was positive. That night, at the Ball, Cashman was notified that Bullseye had escaped from prison. Cashman alerted security and informed Fisk of the situation. When Bullseye attacked, Cashman spotted him on the balcony and rushed to protect Fisk and his wife, covering them as they got to safety.[8]
Targeting Matt Murdock[]

Cashman is ordered to kill Matt Murdock
- "Murdock saving you does complicate the optics of things, somewhat."
"No. Quite the opposite. Imagine if our fearless lawyer from Hell's Kitchen... were to succumb to his wounds." - ―Buck Cashman and Kingpin[src]
Following the assassination attempt on Kingpin, a meeting was called in his office, where Kingpin ordered the city to be closed off and the power shut down. Kingpin dismissed everyone except Cashman, who informed him on Matt Murdock's condition. Cashman felt that Murdock saving Kingpin complicated matters, but Kingpin disagreed and ordered Cashman to kill Murdock.

Cashman finds that Matt Murdock is gone
Cashman went to Metro-General Hospital, carrying a bag with a toy bear inside, as well as a syringe to use on Murdock. Cashman retrieved the syringe and waited for the power to go out. Once the blackout commenced, Cashman arrived at Murdock's room, only to find it empty. Moving back outside the room, Cashman observed people evacuating the hospital and realized that Murdock had gotten away. Unable to track him down, Cashman returned to City Hall and informed Kingpin, who sent the Anti-Vigilante Task Force after Murdock.[9]
City Ruled by Fear[]

Cashman threatens the Council members
- "You know, you'll never get away with this. I'm still the goddamn Commissioner."
"New York is standing with Mayor Fisk. It's made its choice. We're just honoring it." - ―Phil Gallo and Buck Cashman[src]
Cashman accompanied Daniel Blake to meet with the New York City Council about Kingpin's Safer Streets Initiative. Cashman and Blake noted which members were not supportive to Kingpin's plans and threatened them with knowledge about their own illegal activities. The meeting then concluded, with Cashman informing the members that they would reach out to each of them soon.

Cashman watches Kingpin kill Phil Gallo
Cashman joined Kingpin and members of the Anti-Vigilante Task Force to a secure location, where Commissioner Phil Gallo was brought after it was discovered he planned to bring down Kingpin. Gallo told Cashman that they would never get away with their plans, but Cashman replied that New York had sided with Kingpin, so they had to honor that choice and remove anyone that opposed. Cashman then watched as Kingpin brutally murdered Gallo by crushing his head with his bare hands.

Once the citywide blackout ended, Kingpin prepared to broadcast a message to the public about his new order. Beforehand, Cashman watched from a distance as Kingpin spoke with Heather Glenn and offered her a job working for him, which she accepted. Cashman watched on when Kingpin addressed the city, declaring his Safer Streets Initiative to commence immediately and lying about Gallo's fate. Afterwards, Cashman stood alone in City Hall and inspected his gun.[9]
