Biography[]
Dispute with Loki[]
Hearing Loki dishonoring his father's name, Brunok and his friends, began chasing him down. Thor stopped the fight to hear what the dispute was about. Loki then proposes that in order to restore honor, a Virtue Challenge should be staged and in order to reveal truth. Brunok made a team of himself, Siegrold, and Hilda, to combat Loki's team of himself, Thor, and Sif.[1]
Virtue Challenge[]
After defeating the first two phases of the Virtue Challenge, Brunok and his team went to the Asgardian Gold Mine, where each team was meant to retrieve a Nugget of Gold. Brunok's team found Loki's team as well as the Warriors Three, and the teams exchanged stories about which items they had recovered. Loki suddenly appeared with the Cup of Glory, explaining that the glory and honor of the cup were his. Brunok was outraged and a battle broke out, in which everyone attempted to claim the Cup for themselves. However, Thor summoned lightning using Mjølnir, causing the mine to collapse.
Brunok and the rest of the warriors sat around a fire while Fandral explained the origin of the Cup of Glory, and Thor led the group out of the mine, including Brunok, suggesting that Virtue Challenge had ended. They started their return to trip to Asgard together, while Volstagg wondered what should become of the Cup.[2]
Battle for the Cup of Glory[]
While returning to Asgard, Brunok's father, Haldier, interrupted the Asgardians' journey, saying that he had been worried since the warriors had been gone for so long. The group explained what had happened and revealed the Cup of Glory to Haldier, who went into a craze and attacked the group. Haldier stole the cup and threw Thor off a cliff, while Brunok and the others attempted to fight him without injuring him. Brunok watched as Thor recovered and dueled Haldier, extending his forgiveness to his attacked after winning the duel.[3]
