Multiverse Discovered
"He discovered that there were universes stacked on top of his own..."
The subject of this article comes from an alternate universe connecting to the main timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This universe is designated as "History Altered by Chronicoms".

"He's just a kid now, but in a few decades, he becomes an Avenger."
Daisy Johnson[src]

Robert Bruce Banner is a young child who, in an alternate 1973, was targeted by HYDRA and the Chronicoms due to his original timeline self's actions as a genius scientist and Avenger. While they attempting to kill Banner as part of Project Insight, the intervention of a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents from the future would destroy Insight, saving Banner's life in the process.

Biography[]

"So, they'll do a bad thing, pick him off while he's still young."
Daniel Sousa[src]

Bruce Banner was born in an alternate 1969, created due to the time-travelling Chronicoms branching the timeline. In 1973, HYDRA, working with the Chronicoms covertly inside of S.H.I.E.L.D., announced Project Insight, which would use a satellite to kill anyone who posed a threat to the Chronicom colonization of Earth. Among the people targeted by Insight was Banner, as his original timeline self would grow up to become one of the world's greatest scientists, as well as a nigh-unstoppable monster called the Hulk.

A team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents from 2019 arrived in 1973, chasing the Chronicoms through time, and soon discovered Insight. Agents Daisy Johnson and Daniel Sousa hacked into Insight's database, discovering the list of targets including Banner. Though Sousa, who originated from 1955, did not know Banner's name, Johnson did, and the two soon realized the Chronicoms were using their knowledge of the future to kill anyone who posed a threat, even in the future. Johnson and Sousa's teammates later destroyed the Insight satellite, saving Banner.[2]
