"Somebody just bombed the Sacred Timeline." - ―Analyst 1182-E and Analyst[src]
The Bombing of the Sacred Timeline was an attack planned and executed by Sylvie Laufeydottir in order to distract the Time Variance Authority so she could infiltrate their headquarters in an attempt to find the Time-Keepers and kill them.
Background[]
Sylvie Laufeydottir began causing nexus events at various points throughout history and attacked the groups of Minutemen who investigated the events, eventually stealing their Reset Charges.[2] Once she had enough reset charges, Sylvie set up a trap at a Renaissance Faire in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in an alternate 1985 and used it to take Hunter C-20 hostage.[1]
While Sylvie used her powers on C-20 in order to get information about the Time-Keepers[3], Loki figured out that she was hiding in apocalypses, and together with Mobius M. Mobius, they figured out which apocalypse Sylvie was hiding in. Mobius managed to convince Ravonna Renslayer to approve the deployment of a fully-armed task force to Haven Hills, Alabama in 2050.[1]
Bombing[]
When the Time Variance Authority arrived in Haven Hills, Alabama, they split into teams with Loki teaming up with Hunter B-15. When Loki and B-15 approached someone who Sylvie Laufeydottir was possessing, she used the opportunity to possess B-15. Sylvie then stalled and distracted Loki by talking to him while possessing different people.
Loki and Sylvie fought until Loki was knocked unconscious, and Sylvie finished setting up the rest of her Reset Charges. When Loki woke up, Sylvie revealed her true self to him and the timer on the reset charges finished. Before the charges detonated, they fell through Timedoors and landed at different points throughout the Sacred Timeline.
Two analysts working for the Time Variance Authority were monitoring the Sacred Timeline on a screen at the Time Variance Authority Office when they noticed that branch timelines began to form at a rapid rate. They then called their supervisor and told them about the situation.[1]
