The Robert Fairbanks Skrull was a member of the Skrull Resistance who stole the likeness and memories of Robert "Bob" Fairbanks.

Biography

Attack on the UN-1

Taking the likeness and memories of Bob Fairbanks, the Skrull impersonated him and took his position as Commodore of the Royal Navy. From his position, the "Fairbanks" ordered an attack on the UN-1 plane, sending the HMS Neptune to launch a missile. "Fairbanks" was confronted by Talos, who he defeated and attempted to lure Nick Fury in. However, "Fairbanks" referred to Fury by his first name, causing him to realize that it was not Talos. Fury entered the room holding Fairbanks' son, Zachary Fairbanks, at gunpoint, so "Fairbanks" removed the gun from Talos' throat. Fury let Zachary go, and Zachary rushed to hug his "father."

"Fairbanks" was tied up and refused to answer Fury's questions as Talos walked in. Fury threatened "Fairbanks'" wife, and Talos offered protection against Gravik. However, "Fairbanks" noted that Talos couldn't protect himself, saying that Talos was no longer the general he was. Fury asked for the code word to abort the missile strike, but "Fairbanks" continued taunting Talos about his leaving a power vacuum for Gravik to fill. He said that had Talos agreed to work with Gravik, the Skrulls would have stood by him proudly, so Talos asked "Fairbanks" to stand with him.

Nick Fury threatens "Fairbanks"

Fury got impatient and shot "Fairbanks," threatening to kill the Skrull if he did not reveal the password to stop the strike. However, Talos took the gun and tried to figure out the password. "Fairbanks" taunted Talos, calling him a traitor and commenting on Talos' daughter's defection and suggested that she was the mole, prompting Talos to shoot and kill "Fairbanks."

• Skrull Physiology: As a Skrull, "Fairbanks" had the ability to shapeshift, as well as other natural abilities.
  • Superhuman Strength: "Fairbanks" was significantly strong. He was able to overpower the former Skrull General Talos and threaten him.
  • Longevity: "Fairbanks" had an extended life expectancy as a Skrull.
  • Shapeshifting: The Skrull was able to manipulate the appearance of his body to infiltrate positions of power. He imitated Bob Fairbanks well enough that his work colleagues and his own son were not able to tell the difference.
    • Vocal Replication: The Skrull was also able to replicate people's voices when he changed his form. He was able to replicate Bob Fairbanks' form well enough that Fairbanks' colleagues and son could not tell the difference. He was able to impersonate Talos' voice as well while communicating with Nick Fury.
    • Memory Replication: "Fairbanks" was able to access the memories of the people he was impersonating, including Bob Fairbanks. Despite not actually being his father, "Fairbanks" felt a fatherly connection with Zachary Fairbanks as if he had experienced the memories.
  • Radiation Immunity: As a Skrull, "Fairbanks" was immune to radiation.
