In 2026, Nebula hired Gamora and the United Ravagers, including Fitz-Gibbonok, the owner of Blurp, whom he carries with him on missions, to aid the Guardians of the Galaxy in infiltrating the Orgoscope. As the Guardians were completing their mission, Fitz-Gibbonok, along with Blurp snuck inside the Orgoscope to steal, but were caught by the Orgosentries.
Blurp and his owner were captured by Master Karja and Kwol. Ayesha then questioned Fitz-Gibbonok about Gamora's whereabouts. Wanting to show Fitz-Gibbonok that she would mean business, Ayesha ordered Adam Warlock to intimidate him; however, Adam misunderstood, and disintegrated him, leaving Blurp in despair. Felling bad about what he had done, Adam took Blurp with him, choosing to teach Blurp the ways of the Sovereign.[2]
Battle of Counter-Earth[]

After tracking Gamora to Counter-Earth, Adam took Blurp with him as he flew towards the Bowie, attacking War Pig. Blurp was then left alone on the ship after the planet's self-destruct was initiated and Adam attempted to save his mother. Gamora found Blurp scared and shaking, but the two were then thrown against the walls after the planet begins to collapse.
Blurp stayed with the unconscious Adam Warlock on the ship, until Adam woke up and freed himself from his imprisonment. Adam, with Blurp in hand, then flew to attack the Guardians of the Galaxy, who were fighting the High Evolutionary's Hell Spawn.[2]

Adam Warlock, still holding Blurp, flew into the vacuum of space and slammed through the windshield of Gamora and Star-Lord's ship in an attempt to kill them, but during the chaos, Gamora grabbed the animal and took him hostage, threatening to kill Blurp if Adam could make a move. Quill then activated a bomb on the ship to incapacitate Adam, before quickly jumping and grabbing Gamora, as well as Blurp. The three fell to the ground and watched as Adam Warlock was caught in the explosion, which knocked him out. Blurp then allied with the Guardians of the Galaxy and followed them into battle.

Blurp accompanied the Guardians of the Galaxy as they fought through the High Evolutionary's forces inside Arête Laboratories. During the battle, Blurp is unharmed and went unnoticed by the villains. As the Guardians evacuated the residents of Arête Laboratories onto Knowhere, Blurp escaped alongside them.[2]
The New Guardians[]
Following the High Evolutionary's defeat, Blurp fully joined the new incarnation of the Guardians of the Galaxy, alongside Groot, Kraglin Obfonteri, Cosmo, Phyla and his owner Adam Warlock, under the leadership of Rocket Raccoon. Sometime later, the team arrived on Krylor, a planet inhabited by Krylorians. Upon arriving, Blurp sat on Groot's back as Rocket Raccoon played the song “Come and Get Your Love” on his Zune, until Rocket led the team, including Blurp, into battle by charging towards a race of creatures, who were ready to attack the Krylorians citizens.[2]
