Blue Jay was a Humanimal evolved from a cassowary who worked as a postal worker on Counter-Earth.

Blue Jay and the others throw items at the Guardians of the Galaxy
Blue Jay was a cassowary who was taken from Earth by High Evolutionary and used in Batch 92 to be evolved into a Humanimal. Blue Jay was then placed on Counter-Earth in hopes of creating a peaceful society. Blue Jay became a postal worker and was delivering mail when the Guardians of the Galaxy arrived on the Bowie. She looked up at them as they landed. Drax the Destroyer tried to play with one of the children, which made Blue Jay and others believe him to be hostile. Therefore they threw items at the group. When the Guardians went to Neelie's House, Blue Jay stood outside, watching in the window. Eventually, she was killed when High Evolutionary blew the planet up.[2]

- Blue Jay's beak was created using magnets and a locking jaw so that Michelle Civile could drive the movements of the beak.[1]
