Biography[]

Sent to the Void[]

"The TVA decided our universe was dying, and I never got a chance to fight for it."
―Blade[src]

Eric Brooks was born as a half human-half vampire hybrid. In adulthood, he operated as a notorious vampire hunter known as Blade. One day, the Time Variance Authority informed Blade that his world was dying; Blade wished to fight for his world and attempt to save it, but instead, he was sent to the Void and denied the chance. There, he joined the Resistance who opposed the rule of oppressive Cassandra Nova.[2]

Sometime later, he met Deadpool and Wolverine who did the impossible and escaped Cassandra Nova's lair alive. Blade and the other Resistance members also learned that Human Torch was killed by Nova. Deadpool successfully convinced Blade and the others to invade Nova's lair and take her down using Juggernaut's helmet to block her powers.[2]

Getting an Ending[]

"Some motherfuckers still trying to ice skate uphill."
―Blade[src]

Using Nicepool's Honda Odyssey, Ol' Betsy, Blade traveled with the Resistance to the compound and used Punisher's AT4 Rocket Launcher to break into their base, killing Blob in the process. Blade and the Resistance held off Nova's forces as Deadpool and Wolverine went off to confront Nova while X-23 secured Juggernaut's helmet. Later in the battle as Alioth approached the compound, Blade witnessed Deadpool and Wolverine jump into an Inter-Dimensional Portal created by Nova who gave the duo a way home after they saved her life from Pyro. He was later returned to his home reality by the Time Variance Authority at Deadpool's request.[2]

Personality[]

Trivia[]

  • In New Line Cinema's Blade trilogy and its sequel series, Eric Brooks is a vampire-human hybrid whose mother was bitten by Deacon Frost while giving birth to Brooks, causing not only his mother's death, but Brooks to become a hybrid who has no weaknesses of vampires besides bloodlust, which he uses a serum for. Brooks eventually pursued Frost and found that Brooks' mother was alive the whole time being kept as a vampire by Frost. This forced Blade to not only kill Frost, but his own mother. Blade briefly joined a group called the Bloodpack as well as the Nightstalkers, which helped him fight Jared Nomak and Dracula respectively. Blade hesitantly began to work with Krista Starr to defeat Marcus Van Sciver, Charlotte, and the rest of the House of Chthon.
  • Blade is one character who was portrayed by an actor that exists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe without portraying themselves, alongside Mainframe and Gambit. Wesley Snipes' existence in the MCU was confirmed in the Luke Cage episode Now You're Mine.
