This book contains substantial contradictions with the film. Erik Killmonger is stated to be present at the Jagalchi Market Casino alongside Ulysses Klaue and it is implied that T'Challa is pursuing both of them, while only Klaue is present in the film. Killmonger's motivations are also stated to be to simply gain money and power and he is stated to be actively helping Klaue sell Vibranium. T'Challa is also shown in the book's artwork to use a Vibranium Spear during his battle with M'Baku instead of a Vibranium Iklwa Dagger. Therefore, the book has been deemed non-canon as per our Canon Policy.
