- "Power, unearned, can be a very volatile force, cousin. It'll get the best of you, eventually. On your plane, or on ours."
- ―T'Challa to Killmonger[src]
T'Challa was the Prince of Wakanda and the royal protector, known as Black Panther. T'Challa followed the trail of a stolen vibranium to Salvage Yard where he encountered Ulysses Klaue and James Rhodes, however, he was murdered by his cousin, who used his death to destabilize the relations between the United States of America and Wakanda.
Biography
Ambush at the Salvage Yard
When word in Wakanda came out that Lieutenent Colonel James Rhodes was buying some Vibranium from Ulysses Klaue, T'Challa was sent in to apprehend the Vibranium and Klaue.

T'Challa is attacked by Erik Killmonger
T'Challa was able to incapacitate or kill Klaue's henchmen, and knock out Klaue himself. When Rhodes pointed a gun at him, the Prince told Rhodes that he had no quarrel with him. But suddenly both T'Challa and Rhodes were attacked by a Sonic Taser, held by T'Challa's cousin, Erik Killmonger. Despite T'Challa's efforts, he was eventually killed by the cannon. Killmonger would later use T'Challa's suit to murder Rhodes too.
Unfortunately, T'Challa was framed for killing Rhodes and vice versa, causing a war between Wakanda and the U.S. which Killmonger used to his advantage to become a part of Wakanda.[1]
Reunion in the Ancestral Plane

T'Challa warns Killmonger
When Erik Killmonger became the Black Panther, he visited the Ancestral Plane, where T'Challa was waiting for him. He asked Killmonger if it was worth it, before his cousin justified his actions as it was so he could get power, T'Challa retorted by saying how Killmonger stole his power, and that it will get the better of him whether on his plane or theirs.[1]
Personality
T'Challa has high respect towards other people, especially towards his father, T'Chaka. He honors the tradition and principles of Wakanda and is willing to take action whenever it is necessary, stopping the sale of vibranium and not killing James Rhodes. He believes that peace and kindness is necessary to end human suffering unlike his cousin, who believes suffering and power is necessary instead. He has developed his own philosophy where untamed power can lead to dangerous things, warning Killmonger of the possibilities
