- "Jeez, this is a home?"
"Yeah. My, uh, great-great-great-great grandfather built the building." - ―Clint Barton and Kate Bishop[src]
The Bishop Residence is the penthouse residence of the Bishop family in New York City.
History[]
Foundations[]
The Bishop Residence was a penthouse in a high-rise building in New York City located straight across from Avengers Tower. It was built by the great-great-great-great-grandfather of Kate Bishop.[1]
Chitauri Invasion[]

Eleanor Bishop and Kate Bishop have lunch
In 2012, Kate Bishop listened through an air vent in her bedroom as Derek Bishop and Eleanor Bishop had an argument in the kitchen about their financial status. After Bishop made noise on accident, her father came upstairs to reassure her that everything would be fine. Bishop then went to the kitchen and had lunch with her mother. When her mother sent her to get a board game, Bishop saw a giant alien soar past their window.

The Residence is damaged by the Chitauri
Moments later, the Residence was unintentionally hit by an alien explosive fired by the aliens known as the Chitauri during their battle against the Avengers. Massive damage occurred to the Residence, creating a huge gaping hole in the side. Falling debris from the explosive killed Derek Bishop.[1]
Reconstruction[]
Sometime later, the Residence was rebuilt and heavily modernized. Eleanor Bishop continued to use it as her place of residence. When Kate Bishop finished high school, she left the Residence and moved into an apartment. During this time, Eleanor met Jack Duquesne and started a romantic relationship with him, eventually becoming engaged. Duquesne spent enough time at the Residence that he stored his collection of swords there.[1]
Bishop Security[]

Kate Bishop speaks with Eleanor Bishop
In December 2024, Kate Bishop, who was on break from college, returned to the Residence to see Eleanor Bishop. When she arrived, Eleanor scolded her for damaging the Stane Tower and told her that her credit cards had been cancelled. Eleanor informed her of a charity gala that night and told her she wanted her to attend and then introduced her to Jack Duquesne.[1]

The next night, Kate was asked to come over for dinner and had an awkward time eating as Duquesne was also present. However, she learned that Duquesne was into swordmanship. Due to this knowledge, Kate challenged him to a fencing match. The two dressed in the attire and dueled, with Duquesne giving her a butterscotch.[2]

Kate Bishop and Clint Barton look at the Bishop Security database
The next day, Kate brought Clint Barton and Lucky to the Residence in order to use the Bishop Security database. Kate searched the database for Kazi Kazimierczak and learned he was an employee of Sloan Limited. She then tried to look up Duquesne, but was subsequently locked out. After Barton heard a noise, he left the room to investigate it.[3]

Barton found Duquesne who held the Ronin's sword at his throat. Kate rushed over and told him to stop, just as Eleanor also walked into the room and asked what was going on. She was surprised to see that Barton was there and then told them to sit down to speak with them. Eleanor asked Kate what she was doing there and then asked if Kate was working with Barton. Kate tried to leave, but Eleanor asked her to stay and told Barton she would walk him out.

At the Residence's elevator, Eleanor told Barton that Kate wasn't a superhero and wanted to make sure she remained safe. She mentioned Natasha Romanoff telling him that even people good at their job like her can die and that she knows Barton has experienced loss in his line of work.[4]

After Barton left, Eleanor went into the living room and called Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. After being put on voicemail, she told de Fontaine that it was urgent and that she needed to talk to them.

Kate Bishop and Lucky listen to Eleanor Bishop and Jack Duquesne
Kate and Lucky went to rest in another living room and listened as Eleanor told Duquesne how obsessed Kate was with Barton, ever since he had saved her when she was a little girl. After Duquesne stepped out, Eleanor told Kate that she wanted her to help set up the Bishop Christmas party, but Kate told her that she didn't think she wanted too this year. Duquesne walked back into the room and said that a party sounded good and asked if dancing would be involved. Kate told him that her mother doesn't dance, but Duquesne then invited Eleanor to dance, in which she did. Kate became slightly amuzed after seeing how happy her mother was. Shortly after, she and Lucky left the Residence.[4]
