The Bifrost Site[1] was the location at which the Bifrost Bridge landed in New Mexico.
History[]
Asgardian Arrival[]
Banishment[]
Jane Foster chasing the storm
- "What is that?"
"I thought you said it was a subtle aurora!" - ―Jane Foster and Erik Selvig[src]
Tracking astral anomalies, Jane Foster, Darcy Lewis, and Erik Selvig camped out in the New Mexico night outside of Puente Antiguo. Suddenly, a Wormhole appeared, sending Thor to Earth. In a panic, the group tried to drive away, only to accidentally run Thor over in their van. When Thor came to, he yelled at the sky for Heimdall to open up the Bifrost Bridge. Thor's demeanor scared Lewis into tasering him. The group then had to bring Thor to the hospital.[1]
Sif and the Warriors Three[]
Lady Sif and the Warriors Three arrive
- "Was somebody else coming?"
- ―Darcy Lewis[src]
With Loki on the throne of Asgard, Sif and the Warriors Three convinced Heimdall to let them use the Bifrost Bridge to retrieve Thor from his banishment on Midgard. The group soon arrived on Midgard in the same spot. They looked around and started walking towards the nearest civilization.
Phil Coulson approaches Destroyer
In order to stop Thor, Loki sent the Destroyer to Earth. Upon arrival, the Destroyer was met by a horde of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents including Phil Coulson and Jasper Sitwell. Thinking it could be one of Tony Stark's inventions, Coulson asked it to identify itself. Suddenly, Destroyer charged up and blasted at the agents, sending them scattering for cover. As S.H.I.E.L.D. regrouped, Destroyer went on with its mission to destroy Thor and the town.[1]
Leaving Earth[]
Jane Foster walks alone
Having defeated the Destroyer, Thor, Sif, and the Warriors Three returned to the site and called upon Heimdall to open the Bifrost Bridge so they could go back to Asgard and stop Loki. However, there was no answer. As they waited, Thor talked with Jane Foster and promised to return to her. Finally, the Wormhole opened, sending the Asgardians away. Foster, Erik Selvig, and Darcy Lewis waited for Thor to return, but he never did, leaving Foster saddened, but motivated.[1]
Experiments[]
Attempting to Open the Bifrost[]
- "Tell everyone we start again tomorrow. I'm not giving up. He wouldn't give up on me."
- ―Jane Foster to Darcy Lewis[src]
Unaware that the Rainbow Bridge was destroyed, Jane Foster started working tirelessly to open the Bifrost Bridge herself, despite Darcy Lewis being rather unconfident. One night, they went out to the site with equipment and set up a facility that she had built and attempted to open the Wormhole. They charged up the machine and a blast shot up into the sky, forming a Wormhole briefly before shutting down. Foster started getting discouraged, leading Lewis to say that Thor promised and would be back soon. Foster could only think about the possibility that something happened that caused him not to be able to return. Soon, Foster and Lewis were called into Tromsø by S.H.I.E.L.D. due to Loki's invasion of Earth. As this happened, Foster learned that Thor had returned to Earth, but not to see her.[2]
