―Betty Ross to Bruce Banner[src]

Dr. Elizabeth "Betty" Ross is a scientist and friend of Bruce Banner who worked with him on Project Gamma Pulse, but got hurt in the process. Years later, Ross and Banner reunited and tried to work to get a cure for Banner from Samuel Sterns.

Biography[]

Project Gamma Pulse[]

Betty Ross worked at Culver University as a scientist alongside Bruce Banner. The pair were recruited for to work alongside the United States military to enhance soldiers with a Super Soldier Serum. During the experiment, Banner injected himself with Gamma Radiation, resulting in him turning into a large monster known as Hulk. Hulk almost killed Ross, leading Banner to go into hiding. The military attempted to clear all the data regarding the experiment, but Ross managed to save a backup onto a USB drive without the military knowing.[2]

Five years later, Ross ran into Bruce Banner at Culver University again. Banner told Ross that he had met a scientist codenamed "Mr. Blue" who he believed could cure Hulk. Ross recognized Mr. Blue as an employee at Empire State University named Samuel Sterns. Banner explained that Sterns needed the data from Project Gamma Pulse, so Ross took her data card containing the information, explaining that she saved it.[2]

Ambush at the Bus Station[]

Ross and Bruce Banner went to a bus station to go to New York City, when they were suddenly approached by the military. Banner ran into an underpass, but was stopped by an explosion. Ross attempted to run toward him, but was stopped by a soldier grabbing her arm. Hulk fought off the military to escape and took Ross with him.

Ross and Hulk found shelter in a cave in the forest. Ross looked to Hulk, recognizing Banner and thinking that Hulk still wanted to protect her. Hulk eventually transformed back into Banner, who said it was time to go. Banner took Ross's USB drive and sent Samuel Sterns the information he needed, and the two left to find Sterns.[2]

Hulk's Cure[]

Ross and Bruce Banner reached Empire State University and found Samuel Sterns in a laboratory. Sterns revealed that he had created an antidote, but that Banner would have to transform into Hulk to test it. Ross held onto Hulk as Banner transformed and Sterns injected Hulk with the antidote. Hulk then transformed back into Banner, exciting Ross as she declared their struggles to be over. Emil Blonsky then led a military team into the laboratory which shot Banner with a tranquilizer dart, and he got dragged to Ross' father, separating Ross and Banner again.[2]

Personality[]

Betty Ross is incredibly supportive of the people she cares about, including Bruce Banner. Even after Banner's monstrous side had nearly killed her, Ross stole data from the United States military in order to help Banner. She was immediately willing to help Banner upon his return and travel far for him.
