Beso de la Araña[1] is a poison, used by Tilda Johnson to kill Mariah Dillard.
History[]
Murder of Mariah Stokes[]
In 2017, Tilda Johnson used ingredients and a recipe found in her holistic medicine shop to create Beso de la Araña, with the intent of killing her mother, Mariah Dillard, in order to avenge the death of Alex Wesley. Johnson turned the poison into a lip gloss and wore it when she visited Dillard in prison.

When Johnson arrived in prison, Dillard asked for forgiveness for her past mistakes, which Johnson refused. Johnson instead expressed anger for killing all of the people loyal to the Stokes Crime Family and pushing everyone else close to her away. Mariah attempted to defend herself and expressed pride in Johnson, leading to Johnson kissing Mariah on the lips, poisoning her with the Beso de la Araña.

While the poison killed her, Dillard realized that Johnson has not forgiven her, and asked her lawyer, Benjamin Donovan, to update her will so that Harlem's Paradise would be passed down to Luke Cage. Dillard later met with Cage, who asked her to stop killing those loyal to her in order to maintain piece in Harlem. The two discussed their past together and their relationship to each other, when the poison killed Dillard in Cage's arms.
While the Beso de la Araña killed Dillard, Johnson played piano in Harlem's Paradise, singing about the end of her relationship with her mother, and talking to herself about Beso de la Araña.[2]
Capabilities[]
Beso de la Araña is a slow-acting poison. Once applied to its victim, it takes a long time before it starts affecting the person, causing them to cough blood and die.
