- "I never really knew my father. I always said that outside of my conception he was never there for me. It got easier and easier to think of him as dead. And now that he is... I need him. More than ever. I was gonna tell him I've got one on the way. He's a grandfather. I just hope that by being in my son's life I'm able to do the things that seems like Pop did for everybody else."

Losing his Father[]
Throughout his life, Hunter knew only that his father, Henry Hunter, was a former criminal who worked for Mama Mabel, beating up innocent people for profit. As a result, the young Hunter distancing himself from his father, he never built a relationship with him.[2] However, many years later, when Hunter had a son of his own, he learned that his father had been murdered in a gang shootout. Devastated that he never had the chance to make peace, Hunter attended his father's funeral with Bobby Fish and gave a sorrowful speech about his regrets before listening to Cornell Stokes and Luke Cage's speeches about his father.[3]
