The Berlin Correctional Facility (German: Justizvollzugsanstalt Berlin) is a prison located in Berlin.

Helmut Zemo was arrested for terrorist activities during his mission to separate the Avengers[1] and transferred from the Joint Counter Terrorist Centre Building to the Berlin Correctional Facility.[2]
Believing the Super Soldier Serum used by the Flag Smashers to have been recreated by HYDRA, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes went to the correctional facility to talk to Zemo. Warden Schlogl took them to Zemo's cell, and Barnes insisted on talking to Zemo alone. Zemo taunted Barnes about his past as the Winter Soldier and apologized for his actions against the Avengers, and Barnes offered to break Zemo out of the facility in exchange for information.
Barnes and Wilson were escorted through the cafeteria, where he slipped a note to another prisoner, resulting in a prison riot. Zemo broke out of his cell and incapacitated Menz, stealing his uniform. Zemo activated the fire alarm and hid in various rooms while the guards and prisoners evacuated, and escaped the prison.
Two days later, John Walker and Lemar Hoskins went to the facility and were told about Zemo's escape. Walker deduced that Wilson and Barnes helped Zemo to escape and insisted on following his hunch regardless of the moral and legal implications.[3]
