Beast was a member of the X-Men, a team of mutant superheroes, which also consisted of Charles Xavier, Cyclops, Storm and Jean Grey. They were also joined by another mutant named Logan, although he was not keen of joining them and refused to wear the suit they had given him. During a time when Logan was not at the X-Mansion, the house was attacked by humans harboring anti-mutant sentiments, who then murdered Beast and the other X-Men.[4]
