Multiverse Discovered
"He discovered that there were universes stacked on top of his own..."
The subject of this article comes from an alternate universe connecting to the main timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This universe is designated as Earth-838.

The Battle of Titan was a conflict taking place on Titan that pitted the Illuminati against Thanos.

Background[]

Doctor Strange founded the Illuminati, a team composed of the world's greatest protectors to defend Earth from major universal threats, recruiting Professor X, Mister Fantastic, Captain Marvel, Captain Carter and Black Bolt in the process.

In 2018, the Titan warlord Thanos started a campaign of his own to obtain the Infinity Stones, planning to insert them into the Infinity Gauntlet and eradicate half life in the galaxy, believing that it would bring balance and order to the universe. The lluminati came together to stop the Titan, but Strange arrogantly decided to find a different way to stop the warlord. He then used a spell in the Darkhold to defeat Thanos by dream walking. However, this decision ended up causing an incursion between two realities, destroying one of them, leaving Strange responsible for its destruction.[1]

Battle[]

During the battle, the Illuminati fought Thanos while Doctor Strange used the Darkhold to search through different realities to find a solution. He found solutions through Dreamwalking, but it was so dangerous that it destroyed a whole other universe. The Illuminati then found the Book of Vishanti and used it to defeat Thanos, sending his own sword through his chest.[1]

Aftermath[]

"Dr. Stephen Strange gave his life defeating Thanos. We express eternal gratitude to Earth's Mightiest Hero."

As a result of his own actions, Doctor Strange was brought to his knees. The Illuminati made a decision to kill Strange, which the latter agreed with. Mister Fantastic held onto Strange's Cloak of Levitation and Professor X told Strange that they would miss him before Strange said he was ready. Black Bolt stepped forward and told him that he was sorry. His voice let out a sonic scream which obliterated Strange.

Later, Baron Mordo became Sorcerer Supreme and eventually became a member of the Illuminati. Christine Palmer also joined the Illuminati as a Baxter Foundation scientist following the funeral.[1]
