The subject of this article is part of an MCU franchise story that has been officially deemed to be non-canonical to the primary continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Its events instead occur in another reality within the Multiverse. This universe is designated by the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki as the "Mandarin Helicopter Attack Universe".

The Battle of New York was an attempted attack on Earth by Loki.

Iron Man dodges a Gungnir blast

Loki obtained the Tesseract as well as Gungnir and started an invasion of Earth, specifically starting in New York City. Although the Chitauri started attacking, Iron Man gave a valiant effort in fighting. Iron Man evaded the Chitauri and Loki's attacks as Loki summoned a storm to stop him. Eventually, Iron Man met Loki face to face and the two fought, with Loki blasting Iron Man with Gungnir. However, Iron Man defeated Loki.[1]

Aftermath[]

Iron Man soon obtained the Tesseract and lifted it in the air like a trophy.[1]
