The Battle at the Alexander Hamilton Bridge was a confrontation between Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus on the Alexander Hamilton Bridge due to Doctor Strange's botched Runes of Kof-Kol ritual.

Mysterio arranged a backup plan for William Ginter Riva and The Daily Bugle to reveal Spider-Man's identity as Peter Parker to the public while framing him for Beck's death in the event he ended up dying as he did during the Battle of London.[2] Parker, as well as Michelle Jones, Ned Leeds, and May Parker, were apprehended by the United States Department of Damage Control, and although Matt Murdock managed to clear Parker from legal issues, he was still subjected to the negative public perception.
Doctor Strange's spell affects the Multiverse
Parker's reputation started to affect people close to him, as he, Jones, and Leeds were rejected from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In an attempt to fix everything, Parker asked Doctor Strange for help, who suggested a spell that would make everyone forget that Parker is Spider-Man. However, Parker did not want his friends and family to forget about him, so he tampered with the spell, while Strange was casting it. Parker's actions backfired, as the spell damaged the fabric of the Multiverse, making people who knew Spider-Man's identity from other universe, to emerge in theirs. Among those were Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin who were in the middle of the fight with their Spider-Man, before the spell transported them out of their universe.[1]

Doctor Octopus confronts Spider-Man

Peter Parker rushed to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge where he tried to convince the MIT representative to reconsider Michelle Jones' and Ned Leeds' rejected applications. Suddenly, Parker's sense alarmed him about the upcoming danger, as he noticed people running away from the bridge. Parker then activated his Iron Spider Armor, before Doctor Octopus emerged from underneath the bridge and mistook Parker for the Spider-Man he knew. Doctor Octopus immediately attacked Spider-Man by using the tentacles to throw cars at him, forcing Spider-Man to either evade them or save civilians who were still inside.
Spider-Man fights Doctor Octopus
As Spider-Man was distracted, Doctor Octopus grabbed him with the tentacle and threw him at the UPS truck, remarking that he should have killed Spider-Man's girlfriend when he had a chance. Spider-Man assumed that he was talking about Michelle Jones, so he engaged in a fierce fight with Doctor Octopus, using his spider-legs against the tentacles. When Spider-Man heard that MIT representative who was trapped in a falling car, he rushed to save her but was stopped by Doctor Octopus. Spider-Man managed to free himself from Doctor Octopus' grip and caught a car with his web, while evading Doctor Octopus' attacks.
Doctor Octopus sees Spider-Man's face
Although the woman was relatively safe, Spider-Man was open to Doctor Octopus' attack who pinned him down to the bridge with his tentacle. Octopus damaged the armor, which made the nanites of the armor connect with his tentacles. Doctor Octopus then attempted to kill Spider-Man by impaling his vulnerable spot, but the nanites of his mask protected him. Doctor Octopus saw Spider-Man without his mask and realized that he was not the Peter Parker he knew which greatly confused them both.
Green Goblin attacks the bridge
Using Doctor Octopus' confusion, Parker connected with the nanites attached to his tentacles and managed to take control over them. Doctor Octopus was now incapable of controlling the tentacles and posed a little threat, so Parker used the tentacles to get him and the MIT representative back on the bridge safely. Suddenly, Green Goblin appeared on the bridge and attempted to attack Spider-Man, but Doctor Strange transported both him and Doctor Octopus to the New York Sanctum, trapping the latter in a holding cell.[1]

Doctor Octopus is imprisoned at the Sanctum

At the New York Sanctum, Doctor Strange explained to Peter Parker that a spell he tampered with damaged the Multiverse and before Strange managed to contain it, several individuals who knew about Parker's secret identity were pulled from different universes to theirs. Due to the threat they posed not only to their universe, but to the entire Multiverse, Strange ordered Parker to find those individuals and bring them to him.[1]
