- "Guys, let's all calm down, yeah? We're all worked up. Let's all just, like, chill the F out and talk for a second— Take the body. Take the body, take the body, Marc."
- ―Mr. Knight[src]
The Battle at Anton Mogart's Estate was a battle between Moon Knight and Layla El-Faouly against Anton Mogart and his men after Spector and El-Faouly's attempt to obtain information from Senfu's sarcophagus.
Background[]
- "So, this Mogart guy. He's really gonna have his sarcophagus?"
"Yes. I asked around. Mogart's collection is prime gossip for those of us who deal in antiquities." - ―Marc Spector and Layla El-Faouly[src]
Arthur Harrow was put on trial for attempting to release Ammit, but he managed to conceal his intentions from the gods. Yatzil informed Marc Spector that Senfu's sarcophagus would have the information needed to find Ammit's tomb. Spector attempted on gathering information about the location of the sarcophagus, but was unsuccessful. Luckily for him, Layla El-Faouly knew that Anton Mogart was in possession of it, and arranged them a meeting.
They entered Mogart's estate, and witnessed him practicing El-Mermah on horseback, and noticing El-Faouly arrived, stopped his practice to meet her. Spector and El-Faouly asked to be brought to sarcophagus, which was questioned by Mogart, but they were still welcomed in. They were brought to the sarcophagus and El-Faouly stayed outside to speak with Mogart, while Spector stayed inside with it.
Spector allowed Steven Grant to take control of his body and closely examined it, but were stopped when Mogart's men turned on them for tampering with the sarcophagus. Mogart was then informed a third party was involved as Arthur Harrow enters the estate. He attempts to negotiate a better deal than Spector and El-Faouly made, showing him the Scarab of Ammit. Harrow shoved off his immense power by using the Staff of Ammit to destroy Senfu's sarcophagus.[3]
Battle[]
- "Buy me some time."
"I can do that." - ―Layla El-Faouly and Moon Knight[src]
Spector, at Khonshu's urging, became Moon Knight, and descended from above an upper building to confront Anton Mogart's men. They were startled at this and began firing their guns.
Moon Knight then shielded Layla El-Faouly within his suit from the gunfire. When he deemed it safe, he let her go, and fought off the men. As she ran out of the arena area, Moon Knight proceeded to engage in a fight with the men.
Moon Knight fought them in the arena, coming out victorious. He used his Crescent Blades on them, kicked and punched them, and broke one man's arm. As more men entered armed with weapons, Moon Knight continued to fight.
During the fight, Moon Knight changed suddenly into Mr. Knight. He then held his hands up and called for a ceasefire, as Grant didn't want to continue to fight. This was unsuccessful as the men took this to their advantage and impaled him in the back with their jousting sticks.
Grant then immediately let Spector take control as Moon Knight. As Moon Knight fought off the men while trying to get the sticks out, he used them to his advantage and stuck the men with them, knocking them to the ground. He then snapped the sticks in half and walked away.
El-Faouly ran back to the sarcophagus and inspected its remains only to be confronted by Bek. Bek tried to stop her and proceeded to fiercely fight her. He gained the upper hand and tossed her into the side of the exhibit. Angry, she managed to get up and used the metal clasps on her shirt to stab him in the chest.
El-Faouly ran out to see Spector in the arena, but was attacked by Mogart and thrown onto the ground. As she was trying to catch her breath, Mogart prepared to kill her. Fortunately, Moon Knight ran to her in time and threw a Crescent Blade at Mogart, causing him to fall off his horse. He then helped El-Faouly up and they exited the estate.[3]
Aftermath[]
- "Stars drift over time. Not much as far as stars go, but it could mean the difference between us searching miles away from where we're supposed to be looking."
- ―Steven Grant to Layla El-Faouly[src]
Arriving at the desert, Marc Spector and Layla El-Faouly's attempts to figure out the catronnage ended up fruitless, so Spector decided to give the body back to Steven Grant, who had the knowledge that could help them. Grant pieced the catronnage together into a map of constellations that was supposed to point at Ammit's tomb, however, the stars' positioning had changed over centuries. Khonshu revealed that he vividly remembered that night, along with every other night in history, so he made the decision to use his powers and reverse the constellations to that moment in time, so the location could be revealed. Khonshu warned Grant that doing so would enrage the Ennead and they would punish him for disobeying, so he requested Grant to tell Spector to free him.[3]
